Everything else about the trip has been completely ruined for me by the fact that the price is now advertised as more than £800 less than I have paid for it after booking at launch.
After years of booking on launch day I fear that it no longer the way to go. We have got around it by moving our next 2 cruises to different dates and to cruises with high OBC that 'negates' the extra we have paid originally. We didn't book on launch day last time and won't be again unless things change.

I would be aware that that the D deck Superiors are overlooked by the C Deck balconies if that bothers you.

No, it took you too long to Google them

They wouldn't have done that; they don't do so for passengers from Pointe Seraphine who wish to go into the town.
Anyway, they have port shops next to them at the other berth, and immediate access to the markets without having to walk right around the bay. Swings and roundabouts!

We have the same itinerary in the middle of May and haven't had any information from them about Palma.
Hi Purplesea - assume you have paid your balance by now, have you still got Palma and Marseilles included or have you have notification of either of them being replaced. We are on the same cruise in June and have not heard anything but have not paid final balance yet.

Just got the port times for Arvia cruise in June, this is the easiest way I have found to get them, reply came in less than 2 weeks. I doubt we will be going to Palma though.

Does anyone know the situation regarding Marseilles on the Arvia cruises from Southampton. Last year the calls into Marseilles on Britannia were replaced with Toulon.
We are due to go to Marseilles on Arvia in June and went to Toulon last year and would like to visit Marseilles as scheduled this year.

We are going on a fly cruise to Canaries on 21st Jan and am not sure what happens with the Health Declaration now. When we last went in Sept we had to fill it in online a couple of days before departure but I cannot find anything on the website about it now.
Does anyone who has been recently know where to find it on the website ?

We have cruised with P&O since 1999, 1 or 2 cruises a year on average, we have tried other cruise lines but have cruised mainly with P&O. On our last cruise with P&O in Sept 2022, out first since covid, we noticed a significant drop in both facilities and standards of service. We felt that the overall standard of the product has dropped below where we would like it to be and for the first time in many years did not book with P&O on the recent launch day.
On our last cruise in September it was obvious that the staffing levels were lower than ideal to provide an acceptable service level, long waits for drinks in the bar and in particular the drinks service in the restaurants, one time getting our wine when we had almost finished our main course which we refused to pay for which resulted in an argument with the head waiter. In the past this would have been dealt with easily with an apology and obviously no charge. After 30+ cruises with P&O both us and our travelling companions felt that things were just not the same as we had been used to in previous years and that the product has fallen too far.
Because of Covid, cancelled cruises by P&O (not their fault) and cruises moved by us during covid and after we are left with 4 cruises still to do in 2022/23. Because there is a large sum of money tied up in these cruises from deposits on cancelled cruises and FCC's we cannot just walk away from them.
We are just hoping that things pick up to the previous levels of service for these remaining cruises but if not we are finished with P&O for sure but hope that is not the case.

You would then have the return of people queueing at the Pursers desk demanding compensation because the brochure states arrival of 8-30am and we are 15 minutes late. I know because I have seen it with my own eyes in "the good old days" when P&O used to print arrival and departure times in their brochures for every port of call.
They do include a disclaimer in the email though
Thank you for your email. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in our reply.
As requested, please see below an itinerary schedule for your A303C cruise. Please note that these times could be subject to change and will be confirmed once on board.

Hi, P&O on both Arvia and Brittania do not appear to be publishing prt arrival and departure times - anyone know why? I have been on various cruise mapping websites and have found the odd port time if that port is publishing it but do not have a full list which isn't helpful when trying to book trips - help!
Email P&O and ask for them, they don't reply quickly but you will get them. I always do this about 3 months before the cruise and they always send them to me. Be sure to ask for the ACTUAL times otherwise they will send the vague Morning, afternoon etc ones
They send them in this format

We are going on 21st January for 14 nights and these are ours( I got this list from P&O)

If you book before you go you will get any loyalty discounts applied at payment time.
If you book when you get on board you won't get any loyalty discount as you don't get discount until the OBC is used up.

I think the only place you can find your OBC amount is on the Confirmation PDF from when you booked.
-
Lots of uncertainty - we did not book anything and are prepared to see what offers/extra OBC is available later on.
We did look yesterday fleetingly at the 22 night Caribbean TA on Arvia in October 2024 but there seemed hardly any cabins available . I cannot believe that they are all booked, they are either keeping loads back or they have not allocated many cabins to the 22 nighter. Anyway we did not book, going to wait and see what happens

Hi, we’re due to depart S’hampton tomorrow, 22nd on Iona
on other cruises I’ve been on I’ve known arrival & departure times for each port (but of course know they can change)
p&o? Can’t find any! Bruges, Rotterdam, Hamburg nothing. Or am I being stupid?
even the Cruise ship schedule for the ports don’t have times
they are like, yeah it arrives. Then it leaves 😂
I’d like to plan a bit of our day in port. Can’t do shore experiences everyday & honestly, somtimes, I’d rather take my time & have freedom of when I leave ship & return…
…if I only knew what time ship leaves. Bit important to know that 🤔 😂
I guess I’ll be finding out the night before docking then?!hope captain is in a good mood 😂
For the future if you do another cruise - I always email P&O and ask them for the actual port times and ask them not to send the morning, evening etc but the actual times. They have always sent them to me about a month after asking. Here is an example of what they send

All a bit same old same old. We are not booking on open day this time, going to wait and see what offers pop up later on.

If we did not have 3 future cruises booked with P&O with FCC's carried into all of them, we would not be going on any of them while this nonsense continues, but there is too much money tied up in them to just cancel them.

There are a few BP medications that can cause a cough and nasal problems, my husband has that problem but it is listed on the medication information sheet!
I have the same problem but will just answer NO on the cough question, otherwise it is game over with no chance to explain the reason. I wouId be happy to take a covid test before boarding but that option is not available, I have had this problem since before Covid and it is nothing to do with Covid !

Two questions occur: we’re those the booking terms at the point of booking, remembering that only favourable changes can be imposed later; and is the term a reasonable one. The term isn’t reasonable on a stand alone basis however another term requires back to back coverage by an insurance policy.
My thought here is that, I’m not sure that any insurance policy covers medical cancellation as widely as P&O are applying it. On this basis , the risk is uninsurable, the term unreasonable and P&O would lose in a court of law.
So keep fighting and don’t take no for an answer.
How can we find out what the T&C's were when we booked, I don't imagine that P&O would give us a copy of the terms when we booked.

IIRC Carnival purchased P&O to get Princess and may have been treating P&O as a cash cow ever since. The dollar income from P&O cruisers who pay in pounds has been decreasing for years as the value of the pound falls. Carnival accountants don't like this. So do they increase fares or reduce expenditure. They reduce expenditure, made easier by the 'musn't complain' attitude of the british. Will we get evening turndown back? Was on a Marella cruise this month, full turndown service with chocolate on pillow. Another thing, why close your revenue earning venues, cut the MDR instead
I agree, we have just returned from Britannia, our first cruise since Feb 2020 and we were a bit underwhelmed with it. Quite a change to when we last cruised, it seems that the choice has disappeared, right from the lack of choice in the buffet to lack of entertainment in the bars.
Early evening the only entertainment was in the atrium for about. 30 mins and that was cancelled with no explanation on at least 2 evenings, Other things we would have liked that have gone include evening turndown service, loyalty party, syndicate quiz and the daytime entertainment on sea days was lacking.
I would say that the price we paid was overpriced for the product we received, cannot see how they can charge more without improving the product.
Also not happy with P&O attitude to covid now, I would like to see testing re-introduced to embark the ship for all our safety. Also there is no longer any FCC compensation if you are isolated which puts you at the mercy of your travel insurance. Judging by the amount of room service trays outside of cabins I think there were quite a few cases of covid on our cruise and also masks were reintroduced for the last few days, so covid is not under control. which is a big worry.
So we are not going to be signing up to P&O on open this time as we are not keen to pay more for a lesser product.
