  1. snowcat..I read a few things prior and was mildly concerned…..no issue, we heard a few chairs being shuffled once or twice but nothing else….it’s nice to hop up one small flight early to get coffee/croissants at la palette early in the am.

  2. The ship and staff are still 100%…I’ll answer as best I can from my experience only….the new owners, Ponant purchased this cruise line just before the pandemic…they weren’t truthful, took a very negative not customer centric approach to passengers who booked and were extremely reluctant to refund as opposed to offering a credit for a future trip for which none of us knew when they would restart …..it was unfortunate for ponant but keeping customers money for some future” what if “ didn’t fly with a lot of us….again, my TA worked hard. (shouldn’t have to) to finally get our money back…

  3. I never embraced the philosophy of “ the ship is your balcony” and wouldn’t sail on the PG without one..yes it’s more $$ but there is nothing like spending early mornings, late afternoons and later evenings on your balcony away from everyone else..coffee in the morning, snacks/champagne in the late afternoon and late evening reflection makes this an even more special trip for us….btw, we love the five aft cabins on deck 7…reserve early and snag one, there is nothing like an aft cabin for us !

  4. It’s your trip, but for me it’s crazy to spend another 1k just for an OWB for one night while on the PG  ….it would be hard for me to tear myself away from the ship for a night to stay in a hotel (???) ….both destinations on the cruise have special event nights also…

  5. Some posters here are fond of saying “the ship is your balcony” …it’s your choice, but for us, I love a balcony for the early morning views, solitude and coffee, I love the balcony for late afternoon drinks and snacks after a great day snorkeling, sailing, hiking and touring…and I love a balcony for late night relaxation before retiring for the night…we had an aft cabin with balcony and it was amazing

  6. we enjoyed the Bora Bora private beach more than the motu day, although the motu was beautiful, it was certainly more crowded and developed….we swam in the rain with the crew/staff on the private beach, didn’t need a lunch or bar…just the tranquility was enough in the later afternoon and we took last transport back to the ship …just my take and a great memory

  7. Sorry for your loss,  And a trip will be good for the soul….you are right about the PG….very relaxed, small ship, casual attire and casual attitude for almost all the guests…an attentive and very friendly crew…..I’m so glad we chose the PG, it was almost perfect….

  8. We had a walk in shower in 765…aft cabins were great !  Would of been back in an aft cabin until Covid and the shenanigans Ponant put us all thru a few years ago changed my opinion of the new PG owners ….it’s still a fantastic cruise and crew..it wasn’t their fault

  9. We just started to plan another trip to FP in the fall 2023….looking at prices on the PG were almost shocking….I’m not here to say negative things about the cruise because it was 100% perfect, but even now  C cat cabins for two are just under $20,000 for two …looking at a land only ( almost 2 weeks ) for around $12,000 ..I just can’t the justification for that price ….

  10. Good question and yes each is different.   We took the 7 day and then the 10 day which included the cooks…on line catalog from PG is very detailed…the 7 day was good, the 10 day was great !  More time the better if you can.   the on line catlog it should help you

  11. Congrats on going..it’s the most beautiful place I’ve seen…using a TA got us more on board credit and he looked out for us…we had to cancel our second trip 1.5 years  ago ( we all know why) and our TA took care of all cancellations and insured we got fully refunded from PG….enjoy your trip and all comments above are true, experience matters when booking FP trips

  12. We had the most amazing PG cruise five years ago and had a PG cruise booked before Covid hit and created major cancellation issues….yes I got my refund but looking at 2023, I’m not sure I’d give ponant another chance..even my TA who loves PG said, they might deserve our business after all we went thru to get our money back and not settle for credit ..definitely looking at a different line..big kahuna, will you share the line you are using in 2023…you are familiar with all things “cruising FP”

  13. We all feel the pain, and the burn...and sorry you are all going thru more cancellations...I’m sure if ponant had to do it over again, they might not of made this purchase of the PG, speculation on my part only....sounds like their heart isn’t in this endeavor ..me? I’d start the process of getting my money back ( no future credit ) until ponant and cruise lines in general settle down. Good luck...hopefully we can all get back to some regularity and travel to FP soon !

  14. A Balcony is great..some don’t like them or use the phrase “the ship is your balcony” ..you decide...I like the fresh air, being able to sit quietly in the morning, afternoon or evening out in the balcony..I love to have breakfast early in the am by ourselves  or dinner on the balcony if I’m tired after a long day ..fresh air.......I love the passengers and crew but also like alone time which provides a good balance ..either way You are on the ship !

  15. The great debate continues again...your trip, your choice....some fondly say “the ship is your balcony” ...I especially, for 2 weeks would want a balcony...the thought of being able to be by yourself relaxing...eating a meal or late afternoon champagne/snacks...opening up in the morning or evening for fresh air...sometimes you want some real alone time and again..fresh air...either way you are in paradise

  16. A big yes from someone who stayed in that cabin ...the views as you sail are amazing on any of the aft cabins ...there is a reason they sell out a year or more from sailing ....hope they really keep them.
