New protocols were just released recently requiring vaccines and testing. Just tell the agent they don’t agree with the protocols.

I was told by the captain that the new heaters would arrive in May. Also, the cabanas that are closed off will be fixed. They have been closed off due to safety issues ( kids climbing up and injuring themselves).

Do you know if they plan to change the movie screen? Everything looks tinted green playing on there.

Officially transfers are only for kids 12 and under or over 70 but there have been exceptions. You will need to call, or actually your kids will need to call as it is their booking and FCC. It does not matter who paid.
Can the son be a second guest and pay with his FCC, then switch the son out for daughter and pay with her FCC before switching that to actual second guest?

I think $1083 is based on two people at interior rates. Balcony is higher, and fare is based on first two passengers fares, but divided by three since your kid is free. As an example, our fares were $300 each when looking for two, but became $150 each when it was two free kids also. So still $600 total.

Our Junior Suite balcony
https://youtube.com/shorts/u2z45xV_JYM?feature=shareWhat room number is that? We were in a junior suite and it just had two chairs, no lounger. You can post after the trip so no one bothers you. Thanks!

I don’t think it matters anymore. I think they got rid of vaccinated/unvaccinated areas/exclusions. Everyone can go ashore freely also except for a few places that still requires people to purchase shore excursion.

Yes, NAAT tests are accepted. Our healthcare provider tests with the NAAT standard, but left out the CLIA number (Royal didn’t check for that from my experience). They were asked to put that in the documents and they provided as requested. The document was labeled NAAT (full name) using Abbott ID Now. I assume Walgreens uses the same, but I can’t speak for it. The person just checked the date and actually said it was no good since it was done three days ahead vs two days. They didn’t even look at what test were performed. The test done at the pier that day is the one that they cared more about.

Yes, they can get Covid, but are unlikely to get seriously ill. My daughter works in the second busiest emergency department in Washington state. Since vaccinations, she has never had to admit or ventilate a patient with Covid who was vaccinated, but plenty who were not. Cruise ships do not have the means to treat Covid patients who need serious medical intervention and, thus, want everyone vaccinated, so that if they do get sick it is highly unlikely it will serious. That makes perfect sense.
So unlikely means there’s still a chance they can get seriously ill and should stay off the ship? Also, there are many therapeutics for COVID other than get vaccinated or be ventilated outcome. Lucky she’s never had to admit a vaccinated patient, but my nurse friends have. And I personally think doctors are quicker to admit an unvaccinated vs vaccinated because they probably still see COVID as highly probable death sentence for the unvaccinated if they don’t monitor them in the hospital.

For departures on/after March 18, anyone can go ashore freely without Royal excursions with the exception of a few island destinations.

Pretty sure that suites have a non-refundable deposit, with a $100pp change fee and the balance of the deposit given as FCC.
But balconies and below are fully refundable if you book the refundable rate.Interesting. So does that mean if I have $900 (2 people) non-refundable deposit for balcony and below, I can upgrade to a junior suite, change sailing and only lose $200 ($700 FCC) instead of the full $900 if I had to cancel?
-
Outside final payment (90 days or 75 days depending on length of cruise), fares are refundable including deposit. You lose deposit if you booked non-refundable deposit.

How does did apply if you sail south bound from Alaska to Vancouver and you test positive? Are you then stuck on the ship and head back to Alaska?

I don’t know if it’s been moved, but we rented one several years ago. Renting one is fine for your family. They provided a ride for four to the check in, but anyone (fifth person) can walk along the beach right in front of them and even stop to rest in them if invited. But that was in the Spring of 2019.

FCC can now be shared to other guests on a reservation.
You'll get a refund of taxes and port fees for a guest that is a no show along with any prepaid gratuity or items like pre-purchased beverage packages for the guest that doesn't make the cruise.
So if the second person with FCC can’t make it and the fare is fully paid, would that person’s FCC remain applied if another person took that spot?

Hi
I was wondering if right now boarding time is enforced at Port Everglades. like if you are ahead of schedule what do they do, do you step out to the side and are the first one boarding based on your time ?
thanksNo, at least not this week.

I’m curious if there’s a workaround like booking a short sailing (the one with final payment due 75 days out instead of 90 days) for late September and cancel in early July. Would a new FCC be issued good until one year from cancellation or is it still only good until December?

I called after waiting 3 weeks and they said they see a certificate (they can give you the number over the phone) and said it’ll be sent next week. 3 weeks later still nothing, but I do have the certificate number if I want to apply it to a booking.

Does anyone think or know if they’ll also start Alaska from Seattle a week earlier (May 5th) on Oviation also? That will certainly make my cruise easier to get to.
-
Save the money for excursions and things. It’ll be more memorable for her. My kids remembered watching movies outside, the shows, Coco Cay, the self serve ice cream, climbing the jungle gyms, swings, dinners, etc. There wasn’t any mention of the room, good or bad when asked about the cruise. The room was definitely just a place to sleep for us.

If Ovation ends up going to LA, is with the idea that Navigator will do the 3/4/5 nights cruises and Ovation does the 7 nights or possibly more to Hawaii? Or is it entirely just swapping out one ship for another? Either way as long as they keep my booking I’ll be happy.

Yes I did know all of that. "Unlikely" is a rather clever word don't you think? You've used it twice and also quoted the American CDC as saying it. "Unlikely" means that something is possible.
The air exchange every four minutes refers to the staterooms. There's no way an Oasis sized Theatre, Royal Promenade, or Main Dining Room could ever achieve this. They'd need fans the size of cars blowing in filtered air and venting stale air. The wind speed would be such that it would be unpleasant, let alone blowing everything away.
And yes, I did know that even vaccinated people can still get Covid, that's why I find it even more selfish for the un-vaccinated to even be considering a cruise at this time.
You can say it applies to the staterooms only, but Royal says otherwise. “This continual intake of fresh air replaces the air in any space, with a total air change up to 12 times an hour in staterooms, and about 15 changes an hour in large public spaces. Fan coil units in your stateroom and public spaces provide an extra layer of protection, continuously scrubbing the air of pathogens, using a high-grade MERV 13 filter that captures aerosols 1 to 3 microns in size with 90% efficacy — fine enough to filter cold and flu germs and coronavirus.” Add to Royal’s “Royal Caribbean® takes great pride in keeping our ships sparkling clean. Now, with guidance from our Healthy Sail Panel, we’re going further than ever before. Our new sanitization protocols use EPA-certified disinfectants and techniques like electrostatic fogging to clean frequently and consistently. Plus we’ve reduced the need to touch surfaces wherever possible” for your touching concerns. But it sounds like no matter what or how small of a chance, a chance is enough to worry you.

How soon can you cruise after covid+
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
In the last 10 days, have you
tested positive for COVID-19 or
have you been told that you are
positive for COVID-19?
In the last 14 days, have you
experienced a sudden loss of
taste or smell?
In the last 14 days, have you been
in contact with someone who has
influenza-like illness or confirmed
COVID-19?
I would think these health questions would keep you from boarding.
