We did a walking tour (tapas focused) of Picoteo with Food Lover Tour 2 years ago.  It was great.  The food was fantastic, and it's a wonderful neighborhood full of Barcelona charm.

We were on a land tour, so can't comment on how do to it from the port.

we are going for 3 days before cruise.....starting my research now.  Hopefully we'll be able to go in Nov

Harmony is scheduled to depart Barcelona on 31 Oct, but it's over 7 nights.  It's been placed on hold for booking at this time.  Hopefully, something will happen between now and then, and they will open up and sail.  🍷

We are booked on this Ta plus the week before.  I hope it goes.......

  3. i did a lift and shift yesterday for Feb 2022 and the phone rep told me no double points if we go in 2022..  Dang, I wish we could get straight information.  I also have a 9 day in March with payment due Jan 4.  She said no 9 or maybe even no 7 days are going out.  So she told me to call in a few weeks to see if RCL cancels it.  I certainly don't want to make a final payment or get another FCC.

  4. I just booked a JS on the brillance in room 1038.  I just printed out the receipt and it says 10% obstructed view....which i wasn't told when booking on the phone.  Does anyone have any experience with this room or a "10% obstruction".  I dont want to be looking at the hull of a lifeboat......

I was a TA so I am partial. I use a TA who is great (a former colleague). I prefer booking with a TA as they advocate for me, price check daily and advise me of any price drops and best of all I always get an onboard credit on every sailing. I always come out ahead financially when using a TA. I don't understand how people pass up free gratuities or free onboard spending money to book direct  but to each his own I suppose. The price my TA gets is the same a booking direct in addition he has many group sailings so if I book early I tie into those and pay a better price than booking direct. During covid he stayed on hold with Royal to hunt down my FCC which was "lost" for a while. I was thankful I didn't have to do all that leg work.

The one time I booked direct, was with Princess. I had just left the travel agent business  and I booked direct with them on their website. I called in to request an early dinner seating and the Princess agent I got made a mess out of my booking. Long story short she was obsessed with "upgrading" my no obstruction ocean view window on deck 5 that I booked on their website to an obstructed view ocean view window on deck 8 that had a lifeboat in front. I said I didn't want the "upgrade" but when I received the confirmation an hour later she "upgraded" me without my consent. With availability limited it was a challenge getting back what I booked, not to mention a complete waste of my time!

I had a great TA in Mass. Now I live in Venice, Florida where they are far and few between. There are two companies in my town and the TA's are part time. Once I was told if I checked a resort on line then why didn't I just book it myself.  she couldn't be bothered.  Another told me they don't do price drop checks and that was my up to me.  But if it's her day off then I may not get it.  I usually book on ship now and am my own TA...  Although I do miss having one that knew what kind of trips we like and would email us with the deals.  Ahhh, the good ole days.....

I guess while they have their best price guarantee it doesn't matter so much about applying it right before final payment since there could be a price drop at any time up until 48 hours before sailing.  Even if they give you OBC they are going to have to calculate what your "real" price is.  Don't know why they don't just apply them as a credit like a payment but it is what it is

yes.....so lesson learned to fellow cruisers........ i won't make the same mistake twice

If I understand your post correctly, what you’re seeing due is the amount owed after applying your fcc.
There should be a line further below beginning with *FCC APPLIED*.

There is not. The cruise fare was lowered after the FCC was applied to that.

An alternative is to not apply the FCC's until just before final payment. That way, price drops can be handled as they usually are.

I have several FCCs and the current plan is to apply them a couple weeks before final payment, so they have time to post before the final payment is due.

That will be a smart move.  I already applied them so I don't think I take it away...........but I'd like to.......

I've read they have to go thru a lot to get price drops and sometimes fcc drops off and has to be reapplied. It probably will be a pain to get price drops. Hope you have a good ta.

I don't use TA's.  I would have to call them, tell them I found a price drop and HOPE they will make the call....which usually didn't happen.  I book my own cruises now and just call when I find one and no issues.

  10. I had two large FCC that I applied to two different cruises. One in June 2021and Oct 2021. I did this over the phone and with no problems.  Then when I checked my email for my cruise receipt it does not show a cruise credit but actually changed the price of the cruise. So my 7k cruise (alaska cruise tour in June) went to a cruise fare of 2500.  I am crazy about getting price drops but if my cruise fare shows 2500 for an 11 day cruise there will definitly be no price drops.  Has anyone had experience with this?  I know cruises booked this far in advance always have price drops as it gets closer.

We are on the Harmony TA that begins in Barcelona on 10/31/21 and can't wait...it has a total of 12 sea days, 11 of them in a row.  First TA on Royal for us but we've done a half dozen on Celebrity.  We can't wait to be able to explore the ship at our leisure and are sure there will be plenty to do!!

Hope your cruise in April is a go...we have a TA on Reflection booked for April 19th....and figure we have a 50-50 chance right now that it will happen.

We are also on the Oct 31 2021 TA. this will be our second as we loved the first soooooo much.  Will probably book one for the spring of 2022 also......  Since we went NO WHERE this year we splurged and got a JS.  We are also doing the 7 day before the TA.  Will be very fun!!!!!!

You each have your own point totals and it just shows both of you at the highest total.

assuming you both have 354 now.

you go on your girls cruise and get 14 points.  You will have 368 points and hubby will still have 354 even though he will show The same points as you at 368.

when he cruises he will get 14 points (assuming he travels solo) which will bring him from 354 to 368 and you will both be equal again.  If he only gets 7 points then he will have 361 points.

I think I got it!!  so if i go single first and end up with 368 points.  I book a cruise for both of us and under me primary it will be 368.  If he books under his C&A then it will show him still at 354....so who ever has the most points wins!!!

  13. Soooo... i have an all girls cruise coming and am going into a single room.  So I will acrue the points.  My hubby feeling left out is going to do a guys cruise later in the year. He will be going as a single also.  He gets his points.  So my question is: Our total points right now is 354. I usually do the bookings under my C&A number. When he books his cruise what happens to his points.?  Are they added to the "our" account or does he start from scratch and get the points just under his C&A number.??

We have done several, the highest number of D and above were on the Symphony TA from Barcelona.  D and D+ were allocated the Diamond lounge, Jazz on 4 and the Attic. Suites were given the Suite Lounge and a nightly gathering in the open area of the Spa coffee lounge. Pinnacles were given Dazzles, a few nights pinnacles were hosted in the Bistro as well.  Wonderland bar which only serves top shelf alcohol was also honoring most drinks with the voucher. Specialty coffee was nc on sea pass card 24/7 anywhere on the ship excluding Starbucks.  Not sure how long since your last cruise but the 3 drink voucher is good in all restaurants, showrooms and MDR during happy hour.

Thank you for the info. It makes sense that the diff levels were given their own spaces considering the volume. We like to go to the lounges as we meet many new friends on the TA and look forward to meeting with them nightly.  Its more of a social thing than a drinking thing!

  15. I guess I wasn't clear on my question.  I am thinking of booking the TA in Oct 2021.  I was looking to see how they did the happy hour pre pandemic.  I am positive it will be back to (almost) normal by then.  I am diamond plus.  On the brilliance there was about 250 to 300 people as the higher levels usually cruise the TA's, which is why they opened the Colony Club.  there is no way they can fit all these people in the Harmony lounges, even if they use the overflow rooms.  I was looking for someone who has done a TA on this class ship to ssee how they did it.

  16. During our last TA on the Brillance they made the Diamond Lounge Happy Hour in the Colony Club due the large amount of people.  Does anyone know where they do it on the Oasis class, specifically the Harmony?  Even on a 7day cruise the diamond is always overcrowded and usually extended into the Jazz club or disco.
