Agree, book now. You can always change to a lower price if one comes out, but if prices go up you will be stuck

Why are My Time Dining reservations not offered between 7:00 and 8:00?
If we walk up with out reservations at 7, will we be able to be sat or told to come back at 8?
Finally, are tables held back from the reservation system? For example, if the reservation system states no booking space available at 6:30, does that mean ALL tables are full or just the select few that are reservable?
We will be on Independence, if that matters--Thanks

Ahahaha at first I thought your post was about Cozumel ruining a tour. Duh me :D
As with you and the many others I thought the same and had come to mind my experience of a VERY rough ferry and much much much sea sickness by over 50% of the ferry, thus a RUINED Cozumel tour.
To properly address the OP, despite my experience, I would only book such a tour directly through the cruise line.

We will be in port April 1. I have found the current (today and tomorrow)schedule for the airport, but how far out can I find the schedule for April 1 and how do I know which arriving flights are BIG planes vs small commuter type?
-
shamelessly moving my question back to the first page of posts in hope someone will have some input.
-
Yes, we did and they were hardly touched. There is so much food available on the ship that the kids were never hungry for what we had. Or they would request we stop by the buffet or café for a snack before returning to the room.
-
we will be on island 8am-6pm in April. we (Dh and I) will be traveling with our 2 children (9 and 10) I am torn between experiencing culture (French vs Dutch...not really sure what specifically I am thinking in regards to culture) or just going to the beach and/or Maho for the planes (is Maho swimmable at all?)
I am seeking input or opinion from anyone willing.
Should we do culture, beach or is there a realistic way to do both?
BTW our other stops and plans are
San Juan- forts
St Kitts- Snorkeling/catamaran
Lanadee- beach day/water park
Thanks!

Hi .. we are cruising on the Liberty out of Miami and will be spending 2 days post cruise in FLL before our flight home on Monday. The airport hotels are pretty pricey for 2/22 and 2/23. We need TWO rooms so we are trying to find something a little more economical than spending $280+ a night x 2 rooms.
Is there a particular area of FLL that you recommend? We were looking in the Weston-Plantation-Davie area where the prices are much better compared to the airport zone. Is there much to do around there?
Really would like to know if there are any areas to avoid due to safety.
Thanks for your help.
Check out the rates on hiltonfamilymvp. You will need to sign up for a Hilton honors account, but that is free.
I put in 2 adults 2 children. Prices below are for 22/23
Hampton Inn North $231/199
Hampton Inn Downtown $191/143
Bahia Mar $199/199
Hilton Garden Airport $191/191
Hampton Inn Plantation $135/135
Many of the Plantation area hotels offer shuttles from/to airport/cruiseport However the distance and taxi cost to the beach and tourist areas of Fort Lauderdale are $30-40 each way

Avis has a location next to Sears in the Broward Mall (8000 Broward Blvd) which is almost next door to the Hyatt.
Which hotel are you staying at?
Hampton Inn
Thanks
-
OP- thank you for asking this question. We are also, currently, booked at a hotel (not Hyatt) in Plantation for our pre-cruise stay and I go back and forth every day weather we should change to something downtown Ft Lauderdale or just stick with what we have.
To those who have suggested a car rental- do any car rental companies have locations in Plantation?

I agree with all that has already been said.
If you want snacky food while on/around the ship, you will have no problem finding something that will satisfy. I always bring along a dozen empty zip lock bags and put snacks from room service or buffett in them for keeping in the room or throwing in our pool bag.
If you want snacky food to take off the ship, cereal boxes are about your only choice. So bring a few other pre packaged and sealed things from home.

I would book for all, even the collage aged child now. As previously stated, if you wait you run the risk of there not being space for the additional body in your muster station thus you would not be able to add her to your room, even if the room has enough sleeping space for her.

Ours had just turned 5.
Does your child roll out of bed at home? If no, then do not worry. Just because the bed is raised, they have no more likelihood of falling out then they do from a normal height bed. If yes, there are rails on the bed that should stop them, but I would be leery if my child was a regular roller/faller from a regular bed.

If you are staying at Doubletree Gallery One on 3/15 and booked it for $259 I just want to tell you that the same hotel is $162 on LMT.
And BahiaMar is $191 on hiltonfamilymvp

Maybe the Crowne Plaza?
I put Anthony's address into mapquest and then clicked to show hotels around the area. So, I have no first hand knowledge, but this is my best guess from my "research"

If you sail this Saturday, there is not much you can do but wait until you get onboard. Very soon (or rather very immediately) after boarding, head to the MDR. Check out your table. If it is a larger table, take no further action. If is a 4 person table, talk to the maître-de and request a move to a larger table. There will be no guarantees that you will be able to move, but it will be your best and only option
-
Yes, just show up and you will be seated at a table. It will not matter if it is one, two or all 5 of you from your reservation. You will be seated when you arrive and will be asked if you want a private table for what ever number from your group who are currently with you or if you would like to join a large table.
I do not know if you can make reservations for various people and various times in one day.
Edited to say- if you are in separate cabins, each cabin has their own booking/reservation number so you should be able to make reservations if you so choose.

How does this all work if I am flying from the West coast to East coast with a plane change in Chicago?
When I check in, will I get 2 different boarding numbers, 1 for each flight (seattle to Chicago and Chicago to Florida)? If I check in 24 hrs from the start of my first flight, does that mean that at least for the flight from Chicago, I will theoretically end up with a higher number than anyone whos first flight leaves after mine?

Thank you for those who responded to my question about drink of the day and thank you to the OP for letting me piggy back on your question.
I agree, I do not need any additional logo drink wear nor do I need to figure out how to get it home, so I will just remember to ask when I order if it is available and for less money with out the take home glass.
-
Does Royal still offer a drink of the day and if so, can it be purchased for a lesser price without the take home cup?

Thank you!!!!!

Thinking of changing from an inside to promenade room on IOS. We would book floor 7 or 8 as I have a sandwich rule (staterooms below, above and beside mine). I have read to stay away from the pub. I am having trouble however, figuring out what rooms would be above/across/around the pub area
Can anyone help?
Also any other areas that we should avoid would be great.
Thanks!!

No, you will not be seated with a group already in progress of their meal.
If you want to sit a large table with others, they will do so, but will not make you.
If you want to sit together as a group and with out others, just make the hostess aware of your desires. You will be seated at a table for 6, leaving one chair empty.

Does anyone have any input on either of these hotels?
Location, proximity to shops and restaurants?
Would you definitely choose one over the other and if so why?
Price is equal for both It would be a two night stay, first night getting in at/around midnight.

Thanks everyone. We will go ahead and make a few reservations for 6:00 and hope that once on board we can secure some 7:00 slots or just try to show up around that hour and hope for the best.
