  1. This is our first time at this port. Was not sure we wanted another beach day but it is very nice. I am including some pictures of the cabana area. Pretty crowded at the free area but probably not as bad because of Ruby not making it in. My husband likes to stay active so he will be renting some snorkeling gear and maybe a kayak. I’m enjoying our day bed. Our attendants have been great so far. Food and beverages expensive but I expected that.

Hey @Thenagers! Enjoy your day at Mahogany Bay! I’m currently onboard the Ruby Princess and we were supposed to be there with you today. The captain just came on and told us that he thought it was unsafe to dock so we are skipping the port entirely and just having another sea day.

We are NOT happy - Roatan is my favorite port on our itinerary and it sounds like the other three ships in port today were able to dock so idk why never tried again.

Wish we could be there to enjoy Mahogany Beach with you! Looks like I will have to wait another year or two to be back 😭

There were cancellations yesterday as well according to our cabana host. The cabanas were sold out but now they have a few available because of the Ruby. I can see the spot Ruby needs to dock at and it is the one further in so probably why it would be harder to dock. I can see Allure over at Coxen Hole. Not sure Valliant Lady made it in over there. Our cabana attendant says we can add some of our friends for $20 pp.

  3. So I typed all that stuff yesterday and it never posted! Sorry. Took a Bonine again before bedtime and slept way better. Super rocky again last night but didn’t bother me. We were late docking this AM in Mahogany because of the winds but we get some extra time before all aboard. I rented a cabana today here at Mahogany but might go see the sloths.

  4. We visited Nohoch Kay in 3012 and it was still pretty good. The food was better than paradise beach but they need new chairs. Service was good though and the water was actually clearer than Cozumel. I had read about the sargassum and was happy it wasn’t as bad. We got massages cheaper than Paradise beach and I enjoyed it more. Had dinner at Chibang and ate from the Chinese side. I enjoyed the spring rolls and kung pao chicken. The chocolate Chibang dessert was kinda disappointing. Going to bed early tonight because I haven’t slept well because of the motion sickness. Have a cabana at Mahogany bay tomorrow but might try to find something else to do as well? 325EC805-C430-4C9F-84BA-30736925F424.thumb.jpeg.d7da85cd089807a9d3bd5b0dab64ec0e.jpeg

  5. Paradise beach was fun. Got a massage. It was $60 for 40 minutes. We were quoted $60 for an hour in a email last week so they must have raised the prices? It was very crowded but our server Omar did a great job. Overall a nice day but we all drank too much and got too much sun.  We got Guys burger when we got back aboard and took naps. Skipped the dining room’s tonight and hit the casino. Had a Great gambling session! I have been having issues with motion sickness in the middle of the night. First time I have experienced this on a ship. We are on deck 12 forward but not all the way? Going to try a Bonine before bedtime tonight.

  6. Good meal at Fahrenheit. Our friends chose to do the MDR with anytime dining. They checked into the app at 5:30 and were still waiting for a table at 6:45. They had a bigger group because all the teens/parents went. We had 6 pm reservations and were already on our dessert before they got seated. I will definitely do Specialty on formal nights from now on. Not worth “free” filet, lobster, prime rib? After dinner we listened to music in Brass magnolia and gambled again in the casino. The teens went to the deck party at 11:45. I got a few photos of dinner. Forgot to get my ribeye or apple tart. Both pretty good. Nothing really stood out but all was worth it because of not having to wait!

  7. Had a great day at Loft 19. Service is perfect and attentive. We tried Bingo but will not waste my money there and keep the $ for the casino. Honestly better odds.my daughter and her friend did the Sushi class today and had a blast. Pictures below. Having dinner at Fahrenheit 555 tonight even though elegant night. Will try to get pictures before we eat.

  8. Got up early and hit the walking track on 18. Super narrow and constantly had to slide over for the joggers. Definitely got more difficult as it got closer to 8. Can’t imagine it is usable at all when all the activities open up there. Did 2 miles and hit Shaqs. Chicken was good but biscuit a little dry. Love the fries and the honey sauce. Have 9 am reservation on Bolt. Made that as soon as I boarded yesterday.

Hay, let's get this live review on the ball. Are we gonna have to get Jimbo or Jamin, even St Greg to give you some tips 😇

Sorry The craziness of embarking and navigating everything through me off. One of my companions left their phone on a table and had to track it down and another’s teen had to call AT andT for cell phone issues. I was not gettingany emails/service and such and had to log out and re sign in to get connected. Definitely hoping today is more relaxing!

  10. Well yesterday was jam packed. We left Daytona for our 10:30 appointment anround 9:10am  and the traffic the last 2 miles into the port was bad. We still made our 10:30 appointment although it didn’t matter. We breezed through all the checkpoints and boarded shortly after 11 with the faster to fun group. Quickly did our muster and went to our cabin to drop off stuff. The 12 floor ocean suite was ready but the interior with faster to fun wasn’t. We were able to get the keys from the steward and went straight to guest services to get en extra room key made for my husband and daughter since they were switching cabins. They lines at both priority and regular were crazy long at guest services after 1:30! As far as priory luggage. It didn’t work well for any of our bags. Suite or Faster to fun. Our friends who didn’t have it got it around the same time. 3:30idh? We grabbed some chicken at Shaqs for lunch and some pizza on 8 and neither  line bad. But the lines at the bars were bad all afternoon. We finally went upstairs to our Lodt 19 Cabana around 3:45 to do sail away and they brought us our champagne/bottled water and gave us great bar service. Stayed there until 5 and then got cleaned up for dinner. The 6 adults in our group went to Cucina. We all loved the food. It was a quick click on the app around 5:30 and our table was ready in 5 minutes? After dinner we went to the casino and I burned through all my Funplay. Fun 1st day.

Looking forward to this review as we sail on her Apr 29...Did you stop at Buc-ee's on the way down?

We did not this time! My son love the brisket sandwiches but I didn’t bother since he wasn’t traveling with us this time. It definitely is an experience but I just chose stops based on gas and bathroom needs.

  12. A little about us. We are taking this trip with some neighbors. We all have teens and we have all cruised together several times pre Covid. This is the 1st time without out college age son. We are using Casino offers for our cabins. We booked my husband in his “free” interior across the hall and my daughter and her friend will share. I have a “free” balcony that we upgraded to an Ocean Suite. I love to gamble so it is nice to finally get something for $ lost! Lol I will try to get pictures of the cabins before they get too messy. We have 10:30-11 check.in tomorrow. I could have gotten 10 but I know they don’t really start boarding until 11ish so didn’t want to just sit in the boarding area with 100s of people. We got faster to fun for the interior so I’ll let you know how it works.

  13. Easy drive down 95 to Daytona. A little over 5 hours from Charleston and we stopped for gas/food on the south side of Jacksonville. Staying at the Residence Inn by the Speedway. Husband is titanium Elit with Marriott so we got upgraded to a  2 Bedroom. It will be nice to spread out for a bit and reorganize our luggage. Dirty stuff staying in car. Currently lounging by the pool.

  14. Today we are sleeping in and driving to Daytona for our Pre cruise night. It is nice we could break this up and get the college visit done. She loved it by the way. We are staying in Daytona instead of Cocoa beach because we have to pick up my husband at the Daytona airport. He was on a business trip. Next stop Daytona.

  15. I am going to try and do a “Live”. Never done one before so here it goes! Left NC yesterday for Charleston. My daughter did a college tour at C Of C . We are staying 1 night at the Courtyard On Calhoun St. easy walk everywhere downtown. We had dinner at 82 Queen. Yummy shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes. Also had the she crab soup. We have been to Charleston many times so we didn’t do a lot of touring but my daughter did shop on King St. unique store we don’t have in Raleigh. If you have been to Charleston before it is a fun area. I’m including food pictures.

  16. My friend who is traveling with us is planning on just getting the chat feature to communicate on the ship because she wants to disconnect from most technology.  We all have purchased different wifi plans.  Will we have to purchase the chat feature to contact her or does the wifi plans include this feature?  Will she even need it if we can not access?

The value package will give you access to FB messenger. Not everyone in the cabin has to get it unless they too want access to messenger.

You can use Facebook messenger/iMessages/instagram DMs/ Snapchat all with the Social Plan. Anything that is done through an app. I was not able to download my emails but did that in port because my AT and T covered Mexico and tgd Caribbean. T-Mobile might as well.

I second the rec for one of the "sideways" interior Havana cabins -- 5205 or 5208. We just got off of Vista in 5205 and that layout makes it feel so much bigger than the regular interiors! They book up way far in advance, though -- You have to jump on them quick!

I agree! It might seem like it could be a noisy location but it isn’t! Away from the Havana music and the elevators actually help insulate it from ocean plaza noise. I highly recommend these interiors.
