View: Literally staring at the lighthouse - Could not be prettier. Will try and figure out how to get photos from my non-internet plan phone to my computer. Yes...another quirk is that you cannot move your internet back and forth from different devices as you can on RCCL and NCL. Hey - it keeps my 13 yo off the net for 3 nights. Score!!!
You realise with yacht club each guest gets two devices for internet access ? So if there's three of you that's 6 devices you could connect at once.

You won't be able to book times and dates until on board.
You will be able to pre pay for any of the shows that require it, but still not book an actual time/date.

I'm not sure if the price will go up or down but just want to head off the US cruisers who are probably going to tell you to book and then re price if it changes, although common in America, Its not done like that in the UK.

Have you actually booked yet? MSC in Europe operate different to US cruise lines, they tend to board and disembark at every port they visit in the Med.
You may find you can book a cruise doing exactly what you want rather than booking Barcelona and then getting off a day early.

Yep in May 22 was upgraded from YIN to YC deluxe balcony upon arrival, was unexpected and not asked for.

Probably best to state which Port so you can get specific advice from people

Do you know of the Aurea area (top 19??) is adult only? Thanks!
That is more unclear, its supposed to be Adult only, but have seen plenty of kids in there who were Aurea Guests.
Personally I think if they are Aurea guests then you should be allowed in, but others may disagree.

Are kids allowed in the YC pool area?
Yes if the kids are YC guests then they are allowed anywhere in the YC area, there's no adult only areas within YC.

You can do it thru the concierge, although with the fun pass and the bowling, that might involve doing it at the bowling, not sure.

Probably better to consider which is easier for you to get to from the US rather than the best one to leave from.
Barcelona would be my choice, if your flying in a few days earlier and spend time exploring the city. I would expect direct flights should be available and if not there will be plenty of connecting flights Genoa and Marseille I suspect would be more difficult for direct flights from the USA and less options for connecting flights.

MSC dropped the condition on 1st of April 2021 (at least for European cruises)
I was on the Grandiosa on the 5th April to 12th of April and no restrictions on getting off in any port.
Sorry got year wrong it was 2022, doesn't matter to your query but just want to be correct

In YC on Meraviglia, your stateroom is never far away, often easier to go there than public bathroom. Probably deck 14 would be the worse for this as restaurant on deck 18 and topsail bar on deck 16 (there's no deck 17 as that's considered unlucky in italy).

thetrainline.com has an extra service charge that nationalrail.com doesn't, both will sell the same tickets at same prices.

I’m not sure about the class of ship, but it’s pretty packed. It seems very similar to Grandiosa, but I’m not sure if it’s the identical size.
It is the same size.
Meraviglia and Bellissima are also sister ships, the class is the Meraviglia class and Grandiosa and Virtuosa are known as Meraviglia+ because they are slightly larger.

Went back to this gentleman's video and read through his viewers responses. Counted 124 responses and not a single thumbs down.
Youtube doesn't display thumbs down publicly anymore, the option is there and the content creator can see how many thumbs down clicked but not general viewers.

Onboard currency is Euro as on all MSC ships except those departing from US ports.

Not quite, for MSC ships homeporting from Southampton in the summer its GBP. This was the case for the Virtuosa last summer (May to Sept I believe) and is the case going forward.
It does get confusing because for other MSC ships, such as Preziosa visiting Southampton during the same period it will be Euro's on those ships. Its because the Virtuosa cruises are specifically marketed for UK travellers.

I'm almost certain it won't but I'm travelling with my 16 year old daughter on G321 next year and considering getting the Ultimate drinks package that includes the children's drinks package and my daughter was wanting to know if it included the virgin cocktails.
AFAICS it doesn't but thought would just check as never sailed with P&O

In fact legal age to drink in the US and UK is 21. In the EU it is 18.
Uk is 18 as well, never been 21.

The list for the 'free' bottle of spirts/wine/champagne is not the full list of stock available. Its a limited selection.
So just because they may stock Aviation Gin, doesn't mean you will get it as the 'free' bottle for YC.
Controlling costs I assume. I also like Gin and ask for Tanqueray 10, which they stock but only get Bombay Sapphire as the bottle in the room.
