We always book dinner at the specialty restaurants for 6 p.m. and always have plenty of ime to make it to an early show.
I try for the same, but on my next cruise one is at 6:30. It may not be an issue. I'm wondering if folks have had success in similar situations showing up at the restaurant at 6:15 and getting seated early?

I would take what you are told by NCL staff with a shovel of salt.
I think that there is a distinction to be made between customer service (i.e. reservations) staff and PCC's. My PCCs have ranged from simply redundant to awful. I believe that in many cases they are simply commissioned sales people intended to sell cruises to folks who haven't a clue what they want. I'm sure that there are some that add value, I've simply never encountered one.

Probably. If the passenger is willing to pay the price difference.
That's what I thought. My next cruise has increased in price something like $18 total, so if there was some fantastic new promo I would certainly take advantage of it. Fortunately, mine already was booked under the triple point promo a few months ago, so no need to change.

Yes, very explicitly, you cannot request added/changed perks to a booking if your cabin type is sold out or the price has increased.
Can't they reprice it if there is a negligible price increase in order to add a new promo code?

Do they offer upgrades also when you have booked a guaranteed stateroom?
What is a "guaranteed stateroom?"

I understand that NCL can alter the itinerary "at will" but surely taking out Glacier Bay from an Alaska cruise is such a major alteration that they should allow cancellation with no penalty.
Do you really believe that this cruise isn't going to visit a glacier?

In case you missed it in my first post, we have had 3 cruises cancelled over the last 15 months.
Haven't we all?? 🤣

The way I figured it (57 days after July 9), they’d be on the September 4th cruise.
Doh!!! I guess I forgot what month it is.

wacruiselover what sailing are you on?
57 days out suggested the August 7 sailing.

I could not reach our travel agent so I did a chat with NCL and they told me that the cruise did not include Glacier Bay or Holkham Bay. An Alaska cruise with NO glaciers just isn't an Alaska cruise.
Not including Glacier Bay is not the same thing as "NO glaciers."

If NCL cared about odd numbers, they would change their system to accommodate it.

I've lived in a dorm room , slept in a basement and traveled in Amtrak sleepers many times. There ain't nothing on a cruise ship that I can't thoroughly enjoy!! 😎

Free coffee and juice in the buffet. Just nothing like Starbucks, Irish coffees, etc.
I've only been to Starbucks once or twice in my life. Yep, I just ordered black coffee and it tasted the same as coffee everywhere else. Call me simple. 😎

I'm pretty sure that I've always had orange juice and coffee at Breakfast and never paid a penny. Sometimes, the orange juice is in the form of a screwdriver....

Yeah, I agree about Princess. I sailed with Princess to Alaska. But it's "one and done" for both Princess and Alaska for me.
Not that I disagree, but what didn't you like about Princess vs. NCL? (I've never sailed Princess)

Probably a lot of folks on their weekends waking up and realizing that cruising is real again and they don't want to miss the fun.

NCL is sailing with 100% vaccinated passengers through at least October. Consequently they are NOT required to conduct CDC-approved test cruises
^^^this. Thank you.

Yep. "I am hearing...." doesn't really create that aura of accuracy.

Most NCL ships have electronic boards around the ship that will take your reservations. You can also reserve through your cabin TV. You can also reserve aboard using the NCL app on your phone.
Can those all be used for specialty restaurants?

Since 2015. I can't find anything on their site about grandfathering people into this newest program. It's ok. Maybe we will get lucky and they will "accidentally" add that extra point. 🤣🤣🤣
This was effective Feb 2017:
If you'll have at least 76 points, you may just get lucky!! We've had multiple reports of this happening, so keep the faith brother. 😎 We got gold when we didn't "deserve" it and I'm hoping to do the same with Platinum. After our next cruise, we'll be in that "grey" zone.

Yes it is.
For a couple the difference is that the two meals now have different options, so you can't, for example, have them both at Le Bistro. Personally I prefer the extra choice, and don't consider it scaling back.
The other difference is that you only get a bottle of wine with one of them now. Not a major problem if you have the beverage package, but it's nice to have a bottle.
Thanks Keith. I know you're our resident NCL dining expert and always appreciate your guidance on these issues. 😎

Interesting, but not entirely unexpected. I guess it will give us one more thing to watch. As long as nothing affects AK, I'm good. I do wish that NCL would be able to concentrate more on running a tight ship than wrestling with the state of FL.
