I know I am in the minority but for this very reason, I book ship sponsored tours. I have heard too many horror stories. Yes, they are more expensive, but I will gladly pay for the peace of mind.
Never mind. I just saw it on the Dailies that you posted. The reason I'm asking is that Capt Kevin is on an episode of Mighty Cruise Ships on the Nieuw Statendam. He was a Staff Captain on that ship.
Looking forward to follow you on this sailing. We are also boarding after you and sailing her to Europe. Are you going into Miami or Ft. Lauderdale? Was confused on the title of this thread.
According to my research, there is a mercato centrale in Livorno as well. It boasts that it is the second largest in Europe, Second only to the Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona. I have been to Florence and wanted to stay in Livorno but it will be on a Sunday.
Our cruise stops in Livorno on a Sunday. Is there anything in Livorno opened on Sunday? I found out that the Central Mercado is closed on Sunday. Just wondering if there is anything to see/eat/drink and if not, I will do a shore excursion into Tuscany for wine tasting.
I will be following you too @Scrapnana. We have not been on this particular ship but want to plan something for next year. Looking forward to your "Live"
Fair Winds and Following Seas!
