  1. Ercan told us he will be on the Seascape until October.
  2. Unfortunately the other pergolas are FCFS. The three pergolas next to mine were chair hogged very early in the mornings by the same group of slackers that just had access to the OnePoolDeck. They were not residing in the YC as they were never in the YC restaurant. This is terrible for those paying for YC and never being able to enjoy all it has to offer. Like non suite Pinnacles on RCCL taking up valuable space in suite venues and we in suites could not reserve even a table for dinner and had to wait because a Pinnacle slip in and took our table.
  3. Je suis la, mon ami. Of course everything you said is true. We only use our travel agent to deal directly with MSC, to make sure we are getting our proper discounts and get up to 10% back in the form of refundable OBC (depending on cruise line commissions). Besides it was she that recommended Regent Seven Seas to us; a total bust, let down, disappointment, disenchanted, disillusioned and falling short of expectations for suite paying guests (besides a waste of money) when compared to MSC Yacht Club. So her "intelligence" is 'dated'. We are only 50 minutes from the port of Miami if traffic is light like it was on our way home from the port yesterday morning. But your suggestion is taken under consideration. The porters do take ones luggage right to the parking garage and load the suitcases. She fainted while standing under the white YC tent in the shade while I was retrieving a bottle of water. Now I carry one with me while in line. Our favorite porter was present and now provides a chair/stool at the white tent for YCers like DW. We were disheartened that he was switched to Carnival due to his cigar butt sucking. (Different clientele ?) We asked the present porter where he was and found all this out. Happens this porter is a cousin and he got on his phone and sent him our picture. He told his cousin to get out the chair and take good care of us. ($50 tip ). The best way to catch something is to be in close proximity (6 feet) of others. This is where the elevators are so important to have the over ride amenity. When it works we were able to call our own private elevator, empty with direct non stop to our desired deck. This is only a MSC Yacht Club feature worth booking the Yacht Club for this detail alone. You are correct about the elevators on Explora with only 650 guests on our sailing we would generally call an empty elevator and if not we would wait and call another which came in seconds not minutes. When it comes to the World America style Yacht Club TSL and One Pool deck having more cramped, constricted space, it will be even more advantageous to book a RS and OS suite to be guaranteed a reserved pergola like on the Seaships. One does not get this on either Regent or Explora. Don't know yet about Oceania or Queen Elizabeth. These are all important details for suite guests. P.S. We received our emailed survey card for our cruise at 4:13 am this morning, not 24 hours after the cruise.
  4. I think he told us he will be there until August.
  5. Thanks for the confirmation. I guess it happens even to the best of us. P.S. "Here's to us. And who's better than us ? Damn few and they're all dead!" Robert Burns
  6. We are so apprehensive before every cruise. Will there be any problems getting to the port on time? Will DW not pass out while waiting in the hot South Florida sun for the air conditioned terminal to open? Will we find a good parking space in the parking garage (another reason to get to port early)? Will we get sick on board from the other passengers?.... This is every cruise. Thank goodness we had another great cruise for a week, happy to be home again actually looking forward to DW's cooking (couldn't wait to get away from it a week ago). Both reflecting on how the Yacht Club could not be better than it is right now. If only all our future cruises in the YC will be as good we will be very happy campers seldom swaying away from MSC YC. "The past is always attractive because it is drained of fear." Thomas Carlyle.
  7. Witnessed Yacht Club Director Mustafa 'front and center' this entire cruise. Some YC directors are not so 'visible'. Always shaking hands, asking guests if they need anything. As guests were congregating and forming a line attempting to be waited on at the concierge desk by the 3 available concierges on duty final day, he was out in front of the desk doing concierge duties by helping guest number 4 in line. Finishing with 4 he jumped to #5. He finished #5 capping his pen or marker and looks at me witnessing his 'rapid fire' solving of problems and guests walking away with smiles. He asks if I had a problem that needs solving with his big grin." No, no problem at all" was my reply, I was just standing observing in awe how quickly the area went from crowded to no one in line.
  8. MSC is charging $398 deposit to move a booking back two weeks, leaving on a cruise two weeks earlier. MSC agent says one free move can only be forward, not backward. Please be aware of this perk is only for going forward not backward. One will forfeit the original $398 and put a new deposit of $398 onto the new cruise date two weeks earlier. Both cruises are in month of September 2024 not yet balance due.
  9. We asked the Future Cruise Consultant Sladana on the Seascape that exact question. Her answer is that she is waiting as well and it should be any day now.
  10. I posted this elsewhere. But I love it so much I am posting it here again. We didn't know how good was MSC Yacht Club until we tried some other cruise lines. Reminds me of a quote. "We traveled among unknown men, in (ships) beyond the sea; nor (MSC )! did we know til now what love we bore to thee." Wordsworth Its like Churchill's description of democracy, " the others are so much worse."
  11. They must be the golden egg bearing kind. P.S. Upon leaving this morning our butler, knowing how inquisitive I am, was told at 6 am that guest services took it upon themselves to upgrade some lucky YC deluxe guest to the Royal Suite. MSC wants to run every cruise with the YC full? I guess this might be the case. So most everyone that bids anything has a shot at being upgraded to the Yacht Club.
  12. Was another great cruise. Missed one of my favorites, Indian Butter Chicken. They put it under the ‘Healthy Choices’ on the menu which I rarely pay attention to healthy options when I am on a cruise vacation. Hope to be back in same cabin in 6 weeks.
  13. Just a couple of details as I remember them and then forget by the time I get back to this computer. Bring a sweater or sweatshirt, shawl or jacket as the interior of the ship is cold. We 'jacked up' the thermostats in our cabin to the highest it would go, 5 red lights which only raised the cabin temperature to 74 degrees. ( I bring a thermometer). Here is a tip for anyone boarding tomorrow. There is ONE ROYAL SUITE available. So someone in the YC goes to the concierge desk immediately upon boarding and asks how much to get into this RS, please post back what your good fortune cost you.
  14. Don't know exactly but here is a post from another social media poster. "They accepted our offer and put us in the YC Deluxe balcony! So for the price of ONE YC person my wife and I are getting in (total cost $2600, the "rack rate" for that room is $5300)! Happy birthday to me!" Under title "Bidding upgrade to Yacht Club." This was 2 weeks before the sailing. During our disembarkation, we were escorted to the gangway by our butler. In the elevator he told us that the Yacht Club was almost sold out on the next cruise. There were 2 cabins available and one was the Royal Suite. So it appears everyone that bid got upgraded to the YC with only 2 left on embarkation day. So perhaps it is not too wise to nibble too early on those upgrade emails until 2 weeks before the sailing date ? " Will be cruising on the World Europa from Barcelona on 27th of this month. First time in YC. Won a bid from a Bella interior cabin to a YC interior but have ended up with a deluxe cabin suite! Paying around $1300 per person in total, such great value." (another poster)
  15. Rumor mill on board is that the best Yacht Club is found right here on the Seascape just beating out the Seashore. Where this is coming from is also rumored to be from those survey emails we fill out the week we get back from our trips.
  16. This is also new to us. Captain Tuvo has become more involved with the goings on aboard the ship. He still comes 'some' mornings to the YC restaurant to say 'good morning' personally, table to table. He has an evening set aside for pictures. Than another with pictures of himself with the children individually. He is MC at the FCC raffle for additional OBC. Heard last night that he started "Dance with the Captain and Officers Night" . One will see more of this Captain than they will of the Cruise Director Ted. Bye-Bye.....
  17. There is a palpable sense of apprehension coming from both MSC fans and staff about World America. I am trying to ‘ferret’ out what these things are, but am having difficulty understanding the staff point of view. Pretty easy to see passenger apprehension just by looking at the specifications comparing the Seascape side by side the World Europa. Maybe the staff feel the same way and the apprehension is really on how we are going to take receiving less. 131 suites with butler service on Seascape, 152 suites with butler service. 128 seat TSL with 588 sq meters Seascape, 146 seats with 547 sq meters (422 sq feet LESS) 180 seat Restaurant 330 sq meter Seascape, 208 seats 375 sq meters 2,024 sq meter One Pool deck Seascape, 1,793 sq meter Sun deck( is 2500 sq ft LESS)
  18. Others find that to be true. MSC puts their best talent in the TSL.
  19. We broke away from Le Cabaret Rouge to get good seats for a Chora Theatre Special guest artist singer and entertainer, Tom Stephenson. His act combined singing a few popular songs and audience participation with humor. He is quite entertaining and worth going to see. His act begins by embarrassing late comers to the theatre, by leaving the stage followed by a spot light focusing on him and the late comer repeating with the audiences' help that the show starts at 9:30. Another song that begins "when you touch me like this, when you touch me like that" with the aid of a male audience member is hilarious. A third tune is him as Frankie Valli and 3 seasons from the audience.
  20. Tonight’s Le Cabaret Rouge was much better. The adagio duo act combined with the violinist to produce a really good performance. The resident female vocalist, Georgia, did a great set of songs as well. The band repeated at least one song, “I Just Shot the Sheriff “, and the MC, Jaquay, came on stage wearing the same black outfit he’s worn every night. I think he sleeps in it. His posters display him in flashy red and white jackets. He is a poor representation of an MSC MC. We are used to more professionalism from past LCR MCs like Samulous and TK.
  21. I always thought Wally Cox was an intellectual watching him answer questions on Hollywood Squares.
