  1. For the Koningsdam, typically how many glaciers in Glacier Bay does the ship stop and rotate? And which glaciers?
  2. What are the chances of rough waters on a true “Inside Passage” cruise, Vancouver to Juneau and back? (Holland America Koningsdam)
  3. What’s the walk like (around 10:00 pm) from the SkyTrain to the Metropolitan? Safety and distance. What’s the walk like (with large rolling luggage) from the Metropolitan to Canada Place (daytime).
  4. Looking for opinions, recommendations, and advice for finding the best decaf coffee on the Koningsdam. Cannot drink regular coffee for health reasons. At home I drink exclusively Peet’s decaf - hands down the best decaf. Also, does room service deliver coffee in thermal carafes and if so, how long does it stay hot? Thanks!
  5. Totally agree. Sounds like the practice has been in place a while, but sure seems a bit unsecure.
  6. Is there any reason to wait until closer to sail date before completing the online check-in tasks?
  7. I've been reading on CC that porters are ready to accept cruise luggage at the Vancouver garage ~10:00a. The day our cruise departs, a 5,000 passenger ship is scheduled to arrive, but not until 9:30a. 1) Will there still be porters in the garage accepting luggage by ~10:00a? 2) That same 5,000 passenger ship departs two hours after our ship, which is 4,000 passengers and a 4:00p departure. We were thinking of dropping our luggage early, then a doing a little nearby sight-seeing/brunch before returning to Canada Place between 1:00 and 2:00 for check-in to miss the "crowds". However, with our 4,000 passengers departing at 4:00p and the other 5,000 passengers departing at 6:00p, should we do the other extreme and drop luggage early then proceed directly to Check-in/Screening/CBP? We have Priority Boarding, which I know only affects our ship boarding and not the other Canada Place queues.
  8. Ahh, ok. So it's not "sit where you want". Does sound orderly. Thanks.
  9. For a Vancouver departure, what is meant here by “by seated row”? “After the latter have boarded, the remaining passengers, in the order of their check-in time by seated row, are called.”
  10. Thank you! What was the comfort level of the sofa bed?
  11. What is the usual title of upgrade offer emails from HA? I get so many marketing emails from them, but I don’t want to miss upgrade offers. Thanks!
  12. We are paid in full and final payment date has come and gone. Cruise is ~2 months away. We have the "Elite" beverage package and the "Premium" Wi-Fi package. If we decide to upgrade our cabin, either on our own or via a HAL e-mail offer, are we obligated to keep the Elite beverage and Premium Wi-Fi packages or can we downgrade them to the "Signature" beverage package and "Surf" Wi-Fi package?
  13. Looking for pics of Koningsdam Neptune Suite set up with twin beds and pics of NS sofa bed when opened. Thanks!
  14. If anyone can post a photo of the sofa bed open, that would be great!
  15. We are three, single, middle-age adults who are booked in a Koningsdam Signature Suite in order to get three real beds. If we upgrade to a Neptune Suite, is the third bed option always just a sofa bed? What size is it and what is the comfort level? Would love to get comments from other "three singles" who stayed in a Neptune Suite and how the sleeping arrangements worked out for you. TIA!
  16. Great to know! Thanks! And yea, I don’t need them cold, just portable.
  17. Is canned “Coke Zero” always available on the Koningsdam as well? That’s basically all I drink and prefer it canned, not from a bar gun.
  18. Is canned seltzer water or canned club soda available on the Koningsdam? Not mineral water like Perrier or San Pellegrino, just plain (or flavored) seltzer water. I know it’s available via bar gun, but I’m interested to know about canned availability. Thanks!
  19. We plan to rent a car in Skagway and be gone most of the day. Since no food is allowed off ship, looking for recommendations for decent food shops that will be open around 9:00a where we can grab pre-made sandwiches or something to take with us.
  20. Party of 3, departing Vancouver for R/T Inside Passage voyage this summer. Departure time from Vancouver is 4:00 pm. We'd like to eat at Tamarind that first evening and get a window table for the views. Reservation times are all open as of now. How many window tables are there and do they seat parties there first? We are normally late eaters, but is it recommended to book an early reservation time to better our chances of being seated at a window table?
  21. I'm feeling better about our 12:40 pm flight out of Vancouver!
