  1. Just wondering if anyone knows if NCL plays NFL games on its ships. I'm going to be on the Norwegian Bliss from 1/7 to 1/22 and would like to know if I'm going to be able to watch any of the playoffs. If anyone knows, please share! Oh, and Go Chiefs!
  2. I paid for the extra devices the minute I got on the ship and had it refunded the next day. The sad thing is when they rolled out MedallionNet, my wife and I tried it out on the Sky on a transatlantic cruise and it was awesome. It’s been borderline unusable ever since. I can’t believe they are still trying to market this as the best internet at sea. We’re in Mazatlán this morning and have usable internet for the first time since Saturday.
  3. My wife and are are sailing with my parents. We’ve been looking forward to this cruise for a long time, since it was supposed to originally happen in February of this year. So far, embarkation was “chaotic” to put it mildly. Once on board, service was typical high level Princess. Oh. Internet so far is abysmal. Haven’t left port yet, but I don’t see how that’s supposed to improve anything. Please let me know if you have any questions and I’ll update when I can. Bon Voyage!
  4. Has anyone here uploaded a screenshot of their digital vaccination card (if you have one) instead of a picture of your physical one? If so, did Princess accept it or did they ask for the physical card? TIA.
  5. We tested ourselves and they tested us. Mild symptoms so far. In our original cabin.
  6. I was planning on posting more pictures, but my wife and I tested positive this morning, so we will be enjoying the rest of the cruise from our stateroom. I hope everyone here continues to have a great cruise and maybe we’ll see some of you in another live on the Discovery in October for the “Love Boat” cruise.
  7. I know @HaveDogWillTravel already posted pictures of the Sabatini menu, but here’s copies from the MedallionClass app in case it’s easier to read that way.
  8. Every time I’ve walked by the pools, there’s been netting over them due to the “rough” seas. It would make swimming much more exciting than usual.
  9. After a few days on the ship, I figured I’d post some thoughts about things in general. First, the ship. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be tired. First thing I noticed when embarking was the rust stains from some of the windows. I’ve noticed rust in other places around the ship as well. Also, we’re in a mini suite on the Dolphin deck. While I love the space and the storage, the room needs more than a cleaning between cruises. The couch needs to be replaced (one of the cushions is flipped and I don’t want to see what’s on the other side) and the electrical around our desk seems like it could fail at any minute. One of the overhead lights flickers enough that we just shut it off and one of the desk lamps turns off if you touch the desk to hard. Overall, this room needs more TLC than it can get between cruises. Second, the food. Overall, it’s been good. The dining room dinner offerings have been excellent. Some of the other meals have been less than stellar. I had a burger when I first boarded that was just “Ok”. I guess I expected more. The buffet, in my opinion, needs a massive makeover. I know all ships aren’t the same, but I’ve been on the Majestic and the Sky and the layout is so much better and the preparation of the food seems better as well. The food is warm, but not hot, and by the time you’ve eaten some of it, parts of it are cold. Again, like the room, it’s Ok, just not meeting expectations. Lastly, the crew. They are the shining star of this cruise. Our room steward, Ricardo, has been awesome. The dining room staff has been super attentive and quick to respond to any request. Even in the buffet, one of the crew stopped by just to chat us up. If I had more than two thumbs up to give them, I would. These are just my thoughts. Others may feel different, but after having some cruises under my belt and knowing what level things could be at, I wish they were there.
  10. Captain’s announcement at noon included the news that we are skipping Icy Strait Point. I was planning on doing the ZipRider for the second time, so quite the bummer. Actually bought video equipment to film it and everything. The change is due to the rough seas we encountered on the way up the coast. If you’ve not experienced the ZipRider, it’s an awesome experience. Maybe next time.
  11. As of 9am this morning, this is our speed and heading according to the MedallionClass app.
  12. Yes. The seas are much calmer today. After the last two days of rockin and rollin, this is very welcome. Also, my wife agrees whole heartedly about the prime rib. I had the lasagna, which was also excellent. I have a bowl of French onion soup every night and it never fails to disappoint.
  13. I'll post more menus when I'm not fighting this "challenging" internet. For now, I'll leave you with this view of us cruising under the Golden Gate Bridge...
  14. The great thing about the MedallionClass app now is that you can see the menu for every day if the cruise (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). I’ll post the dinner menus in this thread for each day. If you want the other menus, please let me know.
  15. Mrs. 7seas and I boarded the Ruby Princess at the Port of San Francisco today. The Ruby arrived in port a little later than scheduled due to rough seas, which delayed embarkation. The line just to get into the cruise terminal was outside the building and wrapped quite a ways around. Once we cleared security, it was "smooth sailing". We were both able to check in with no issues (My Medallion works this time!). There was another line onboard and it seemed like the person checking in people had issues with her device that scanned Medallions. Again, it seemed to be resolved fairly quickly. Due to the delay of the ships arrival, the rooms weren't ready right away, so we had a nice lunch in the DaVinci dining room. We went out for the SailAway Party. The ships crew kept making announcements over the ship-wide PA system every time the cruise director tried to get the "party started". Eventually it was pretty comical. We just returned from Dinner in the DaVinci room, which was fantastic. Our dinner was just as the Ruby was passing by Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate bridge. I was able to jump out and capture a couple of pictures from the bow of the ship. Note to anyone who wants to take pictures from the bow of any cruise ship while it's leaving the San Francisco bay: Wear a jacket. It is extremely windy and very cold. If anyone has any questions, feel free to post them in the comments, I'll try to keep up as time and my internet connection allows.
