Sunny here. My allergies are really acting up. 

Today is a work from home day and only a half day. Then i am off until Wednesday. 

23 days until my cruise. Packing little by little. I need this cruise.

Sunrise through Tongass Narrows coming into Ketchikan has been lovely (seem to be giving that word a workout - open to suggestions for alternatives, lol). The water is very still, balcony is such a peaceful place (using the HAL provided blanket plus my jacket) - sure wish Explorations Central was open this time of day. Is it too early for wine? Need something to enjoy on the balcony. 

Miss the wake views from the aft balconies, but these views are still stunning and camera-worthy. Slightly envious of those who were able to snag the afts 😘🤧 but this slightly forward deck 6 SS from a lowest level balcony guarantee is quite enjoyable and proof last minute guarantees can pay off!! Thanks again @Denise T for your Live thread - it was the inspiration for this booking!!

I am so glad you are having a great time. I am so excited to go on my cruise and see Alaska too.

Sun is mostly shining, currently 41 w/forecasted high of 46. Ship just got clearance for passengers to go ashore. All Board is 3:30.

The welcome center is completely new since we were here last; it looks very nice.

There is a free shuttle running to/from Downtown throughout the day (approx 15 min ride), so if you didn't book an excursion, you will have no issue getting into town. 

We didn't book an excursion and will be exploring on our own. On previous visits, we have gone to Fortress of the Bears, the rapture center and a local brewery and really enjoyed them all. Fortress of the Bears was under expansion during our last visit, so it should be really nice.

More to come after we get into town.

First picture was earlier this morning as we were just coming into Sitka Sound. It is so peaceful here - sunrise was lovely. 

Sitka is not on my itinerary. I have seen other photos and it looks like a place I would love to visit.

Last day of the work week for me. I am soooooo tired. This cold, damp weather here is wiping me out.

Good morning. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet report. 

As a teacher, I certainly wish that the two universities where I teach appreciated more. It would be great to be paid for the many extra hours that I put in to resolve student issues that have been caused by the students themselves. I love teaching, hate the bureaucracy.

I mourn the loss of my oldest brother and sister over these past two years and I get to celebrate with my sister, brother, and sister-in-law on our upcoming cruise together in only 26 more days. 

The meal looks enticing. Definitely yes to the drink.

Hoping to see Nieuw Amsterdam pull into Juneau for the first time this season.

Welcome to Juneau Eurodam. 

Here you are. 

Eurodam, sneaking in. 

The Juneau cam keeps spanning and when the ships come in, they zoom in on the ships. When the season opened and the Norwegian Bliss was the first ship in, the zoomed to the dock and you were able to see them roping up the ship and then passengers getting off. Loved it!
