  1. But FYI to the original poster.....these are NOT hotels. They are beach clubs. Generally they are more crowded than hotels, but also less expensive. Are you looking for an actual AI hotel/resort, or just an AI beach club?

An AI Beach Club would be great or an AI hotel. Wouldn't mind a spa treatment.

  2. What makes you think other passengers will not be following the rules? My advice is don't worry about it. You will deal with it if it happens. There has been very little talk here of smoking on balconies since the policy went into effect.

Because my last cruise in Feb. 2014....there were smokers smoking on their balconies....and I've experienced it on other recent cruises as well on RCCL.

  3. What do you believe would be the No. 1 All-Inclusive hotel that offers day passes to cruise ship passengers? Criteria....close to the Oasis pier, very clean, between $50 - 90.00, beautiful beach and scenery, great food, lounge chairs, etc.

    Thank you!

  4. Crowne Plaza Hollywood is actually in Hallandale Beach and is about 10 miles south of Port Everglades, so estimate a $25 - $30 cab ride.

The hotel itself is very nice, located right on the Intracoastal, with a nice casual restaurant and tiki bar downstairs. If you do not mind walking, you would have to walk over the bridge that the hotel is adjacent to for shopping, restaurants, Walmart, etc. Gulfstream Village (shops, restaurants, casino) is a little further away, as well as Downtown Hollywood, but you can easily taxi to either place, as well as to the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. There is an upscale sports bar about a 10-minute walk from the hotel at Diplomat Landing (across the street from Westin Diplomat).

Brunello22...thanks so much for the info. My mother is in a wheelchair so walking wouldn't be ideal and we'd like to save on cab fares. Would the GalleryOne be a good location for being close to the port and accessing restaurants?

    Thanks again!

  5. Yes I take my SetSail Pass because it needs to be signed. I agree that planning is half the fun. Why do you think that I don't plan or enjoy it just because I don't print out tons of stuff and put it in a binder anymore? I just find it easier to have everything organized on my phone. I have it in my pocket and only takes seconds to access.

Both of my hotel reservations are on my phone, I can check in my flight and have my boarding passes sent to my phone, all my cruise documents are on my phone. I don't really need much paper anymore. If I do have to print something I can email the document and have it printed or use my app to print on their computer.

If I lose my phone I can also access it on my iPad, my wife's phone or her kindle.

If someone leaves their binder at home or misplaces it they will be spending an awful amount of time trying to look up and print all their documents.

Just easier for me. I used to have binders loaded with all sorts of printed paper but I found this much more organized and easier for me.

What app do you use on your phone to be able to print out documents?

  6. For doing a B2B? Not really. At the meeting they offered to book anything for the second cruise. I suppose that if I had not already booked my entertainment for both cruises, they would have done that for me. I don't know if they could have gotten me into "full" performances or not. (can they override? I don't know) If I had wanted dining reservations, they would have made them for me.

As I guess you know, the best "perk" is the nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah as everyone else leaves and you don't.

Oasis/Allure more than other ships does not really give you time between cruises when you have the ship to yourself. As a matter of fact, the B2B'ers are not always the first let back on!

ETA: Like other ships, you can access your cabin before the 1 P.M. "opening" time for the peons/rest of the passengers. ;) :D

    Thanks again!
