  1. Has anyone recently sailed in 8068 on Quest.

Not much choice available for my chosen cruise.

It does not have favourable comment on spreadsheet.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Anyone been in 8041 on Onward? Any comments? We have it booked for Bordeaux to Barcelona in September

I was in 8043 on Quest last year.  It was under Patio - extremely noisy.  Check if it is under Patio.  I would avoid.

This is really 'old' information, but it is probably a fairly helpful bit of information as we seem to be in the same circumstances now.

In 2001 we booked a two week cruise from Mombasa through to Athens for March 2003.  Stops included Djibouti, Jordan, Egypt, Israel and then Athens.  I even remember the price - it was $5679.00 USD each for an inside cabin including air fare done by the cruise line.  A really good deal I thought.  We pre-booked an additional 5 day safari from Nairobi to the Massai Mara with the cruise line.  The cruise line was Orient Lines (anyone remember them?  The ship was the Crown Odyssey, the sister ship was the Marco Polo).

The first to get chopped, almost right after we booked was Israel; trouble started up there in November 2001.  We were good with that though, said we would go someday in the future instead.  We spent the year planning and researching all ports and was very excited about the whole trip.

In Dec 2002 we got the bigger 'ouch'.   They were cutting out Mombasa  due to the attack on the El Al plane in Nov 2002 from a beach resort there, so this cut out the safari which was my biggest reason for booking this trip.  I cried, but convinced myself that was OK, we would go someday on a safari. (and we sure have many times since then). They would let us know where we were starting from at a later date.

Before they even got around to that though, the Iraq War was becoming a reality.  Our agent called us in Jan 2003, right after the New Year.  The whole cruise changed entirely as the insurance company for the ship (at the time it was Lloyds of London I heard) said NO GO to the ship through the Suez.  So our lovely dream safari, and dream vacation of the Middle East became something not even remotely like the original. This happened to most of the cruise lines going through the canal, not just ours.

They would fly us to Delhi India for a 5 day land tour of Delhi and Agra, then fly us to Mumbai to catch the ship. We would stop in Goa (India), the Maldives, the Seychelles, Mauritius, Reunion Island, 3 ports in South Africa with 3 nights overnight in Capetown, then Namibia, Cape Verde, Madeira, Tenerife, Lisbon, Cadiz, Barcelona, Nice and then disembark with 2 days in Rome.  And certainly not in 2 weeks - I had to grovel to the boss and get 6 weeks for that little vacation, luckily both the employers of myself & my husband said yes.  The war did start, the war was declared the day we arrived in India.

But the best part?  Not one additional penny was owed - they gave us that entire trip for $5679.00 USD each.

    It was an awesome adventure!

My DH and I joined Odyssey in Cape Town and sailed to Lisbon on this cruise - and had wonderful time.  We could have stayed on to Barcelona for £300 per person (work was calling).  Happy memories.

Was your cabin 8049 on the Onward or one of the other ship? I understand the Onward deck plan is different from the others.

    Thanks,

    Monica

We were on Quest in 8043 for 6 weeks in April/May  .  This cabin in under Patio - I would not book cabin under Patio - very noisy

I have managed to get logged into Azamara account.  Most information is correct, however we had checked in online prior to the IT transition but cannot see how we can print the Express passes?

I had same problem.  I phoned Azamara direct.  Line was busy but asked for call back.  Within 5 minutes I was contacted.  I explained I needed travel documents.  They were forwarded to me by EMail. Within 30 minutes.  They are still showing I owe £11000 ????  But I received tickets.  Just dreading long lines on board as everyone sorts these numerous problems.

  6. I am travelling 18th April.  On my account I still owed over £5700 (it was paid in January)  I phoned Azamara direct line busy but got call back in 5 minutes.  Casey sorted all and forwarded travel documents.  Shore excursions all incorrect and OBC etc.  But will fix that on board.  All will good.

We embarked on our 3rd Azamara cruise in December 2022 - Perth to Melbourne. Unfortunately, we contracted COVID 7 days into our 14 day cruise and were confined to our cabin for a mandatory 5 days. After 3 days we took the decision to disembark and return home.

We were assured by Guest relations onboard we would be eligible for a future cruise credit plus credit for unused specialty dining etc.

Sadly, since January, we have made repeated attempts to contact Azamara via several email addresses, phone, Facebook and have been totally ghosted.

Has anyone else had this experience? Can anyone offer any next steps?

My husband and I contacted Covid on our June cruise.  We were given letters from the Cruise Director stating that we would receive FCC.  I was told to expect to wait at least 3 months before I would hear direct from Azamara.  After this time I phoned (reservations) and was told to EMail Loyalty@Azamara.com  I received reply with FCC within a week.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for posting. Did anyone contact you before  you received that final invoice.  It has been more than a week since I sent my email.  I would just like some confirmation that it was received.

No after 2 weeks I sent another 2 EMails one to Guest Relations and another to Loyalty.  Maybe I was impatient but Invoice came with apology one week later.

Just off the Pursuit.  The person in charge of booking is new.  He completed the bookings, but said it was up to loyalty to do the final calculation

I have just added 6 free nights to my booking.  This was direct with Azamara.  I was told to contact Loyalty at Azamara .  It took 3 weeks for new Invoice showing price reduction.  I am very happy about offer given.

Thanks, we are already signed up! How has the weather been? We are still trying to figure out what layers to bring. This is great getting this info ahead of time!

I have experienced both of these cruises and rebooked for 2024.  The weather was beautiful. Warm and sunny.  Take waterproof for arriving in Europe.

It said the upgrade request was cancelled because the booking was modified. I don't think I booked a guaranteed cabin, I picked what cabin I wanted but again I don't really know what I'm doing to be fair. I have awful trouble contacting Azamara as I'm calling from Ireland and have to call the UK office or us office which ends up costing a bit when I'm on hold for ages inevitably....I will book with a travel agent in future, I know that now! Thank you for your response.

I phoned Azamara Yesterday.  Because all Agents busy recording states press button No.1 and you will be in queue for call back.   I received call in 10 minutes.

We are also boarding the Pursuit on that day. We boarded the onward in Miami December 1 and check in was on the pier and very efficient. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on hotels in Buenos Aires?

I stayed at Hilton in Porto Madero, Buenos Aires.  Very good. Next to River - nice walking walking area - plenty of cafes.  No complaints of Hotel and would book again.

Nothing booked at the moment but looking at Feb 2024. We like the look of The Rio Carnival cruise on Quest.

Anyone done this cruise previously and can give us any advise ? We've never been to S America.

    Regards Paul & Patricia.

We did Buenos Aires to Rio then Rio to Lisbon before Covid - loved both cruises have rebooked same for March 2024. Loved South America - we did not do carnival but all the famous Rio sights. Wonderful.
