As a frequent RC cruiser (about to do our first Celebrity cruise(s) next May, i can say that i've never seen them putting cards on the empty chairs, or basically doing anything to discourage chair hogs.

This is what I was talking about. So far, I've only seen it on my last RC cruise in January.

But again, Im not sure how I feel about it or how effective it is/was.

yet there were still a couple of chair savers in prime locations.. 4 loungers near us with bands holding the towels in place, were unoccupied for 3 hrs..When we left for lunch, one person was there...Not that it was crowded, but still Amazing the feeling of entitlement...

That frustrates me so much! It's times like those that I want to take the stuff off the chair just to prove a point but I know it won't make a difference.

Thank you so much for answering my questions and posting the daily sheet.

  3. Thank you for re-joining us to answer questions!

Did you go to the comedy shows, seperate from the ones on the theater? How were they?

Do you have any daily schedules you could shares?

Do they make omelets in the oceanview cafe for breakfast? Do you happen know if they use egg powder? 😖

It's interesting about the chair hogs, especially in the solarium. On my last RC cruise, the pool staff had cards they put out on chairs that they saw were unoccupied with the time written on it. If you weren't back in a half hour, your belongings were removed and the chair was open to other people.

I'm not sure how I feel about that or how well it worked.

  4. We are joining eclipse on 6/16. If anyone who went recently can post a couple daily schedules, I'd really appreciate it!

Also, what are some of the evenings entertainment? Do we need to get tickets ahead of time, similar to RC?

What I was showing was a cost comparison.  I am saying that we buy two single device plans (one for each of us) versus a single two device plan as the two single plans combined typically is far less costly than a single two device plan.

I am probably thinking there is more information than there actually is  and that's what is causing my confusion.

What two things are you comparing?

    What did you actually purchase?

    Sorry for all the questions!

Just a side comment, the single device packages are almost always way less costly and typically you can have two single device packages for significantly less than a single two device package. We usually do that and I will have one device on mine (phone) and my wife will have the other (tablet) on hers, or visa versa.  We also frequently shift to the other devices on each plan as needed as we rarely both have to have both on simultaneously.

Unless you have a real need to have both devices always on together the two single device plan allows enough flexibility, at least for us, at far less cost.  Just a thought.

What is the difference between the two plans?

I know about the single device plan but what about the 2 device plan where you aren't simutamilously, as opposed to the 2 device plan where you are on at the same time?

There is NO WAY to do what you want to do. The reason being is one can only create one signon and password combination. When you do that you can either choose to activate free Elite+ minutes or activate the pre-purchased unlimited Wifi package - you can't do both simultaneously, nor can you create a second wifi account.

This person knows that she wants the unlimited wifi package because she likes to play games that are online and others stuff that requires you to be online. She does not want to limit herself to 240 minutes and have to remember to sign off each time.

With that being said, what is the point of having the free minutes if she purchased the unlimited wifi package?

  8. I have a several questions-

How far is this from this from the Royal Navy Dockyard?

    Is the museum air conditioned?

Are there more animals to see than dolphins?

How long do you usually stay at the museum if you are not interacting/swimming with the dolphins?

I know it's a personal opinion but do you believe it's worth the $18 admission fee?

    Thanks!

  9. I'm not sure if I should make a new post for this but I'll try here first.

Can the traveling group text with each other if we don't all the have an internet package?

For Royal Carribean, we can message each other through the Royal App (although it's often delayed or there is a glitch).

2 of us have Android and 1 has Apple.

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks everyone! I know on Royal Carribean you can transfer your free minutes to another passenger and both use it at the same time. After the alotted time is up, it throws you off and doesn't allow you to go over.

I would think celebrity would do that also, since you have earned that.

but it seems that the 240 free minutes must be used up first before she uses her included free wifi so not so simple

Thank you. Is that written somewhere?

That would be a complete waste of the 240 free minutes.

Once on board your friend can sign on to their Elite+ wif account by entering their cabin number and creating a password. Once that's done, provided they are logged out at the time, you should be able to login using the same password. Once you have used your friends minutes create your own account to use your Elite minutes.

    Thank you

  13. I am elite status and I believe I get 90 free internet minutes. Someone I am traveling with (different cabin and different last name) is elite plus and recieves 240 internet minutes. However, she purchased the internet package so she doesn't need the 240 minutes.   Is there a way she can transfer those 240 minutes over to me? Thank you!

I would google your phone model of how to set up a hotspot as the person you quoted has a different model.  My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is when you go into settings, network, and hotspot.  So once you successfully get your phone in hotspot mode, you would log in X's wifi, which would then share the wifi through your hotspot.  Then your mom simply connects to your phone's wifi.  Your phones will need to somewhat be near each other and it will split the speed between the two of you

***Also replying to DaKahuna but I'm not sure how to add him/her into this message also.

I have 2 months before the cruise, so if I learn how to use hotspot and am sure not to connect to the ships cellular service, would this mean I WOULD be able to share the wifi at the same time as my mom? We would both just have weaker signals?

Yes, most Android based phones can do that.  iPhones cannot.  With an iPhone you must be connected via the Cellular in order to share over your WiFi.  That's why I travel with a travel router than is capable of two WiFi connections simultaneously.

What I'm reading here seems very interesting although I'm extremely confused.

Both my mom and I have Samsung (android) phones. I have S21, she has S22.

We have the 1 device package.

Are you saying that (somehow), we can both be on wifi at the same time even though only 1 device package was purchased?

If yes, please explain in detail. I've heard of Hotspot but am not familiar in how to use it.

    Thanks so much!

  16. I am going on Eclipse in June and I called to order the premium wifi package because it's on sale. I'd be buying for 1 device.

In the past, I was able to sign out of one device and sign into another, thus only using 1 device at a time.

According to the agent on the phone, something about the original IP address that you sign on with is the only device that is allowed. Regardless of whether you sign out, you cannot sign in on a different device (different IP address).

I called again and talked to different people and got this same answer which I still find it hard to believe.

Anyone know of any new changes like this?

Hey.. I'm also on the 10\1 sailing (are you in the fb group?)  The menus aren't exactly set yet, but if you look on the app you can see the current sailing and get an idea of the menus. Same thing with the activities- change the sailing to this week and you can look at the schedules, it should be pretty much the same. Although we do get a new cruise director the week before we sail, not sure that changes some of the times and activities planned.

I'm on the Facebook group now. 🙂

This is probably going to sound stupid but I didn't know there was a Facebook page for a particular sailing. What's the name of the fb page?

Also, I went to the royal app and could not go to see any information for this week's activities/menus. It is only showing me the information that is available for my Oct 1 cruise (which isn't much at this point)

  19. Cruise coming up Oct 1!

I have some food related questions if you don't mind answering--

for breakfast, are omlettes made to order both in the Windjammer AND Solarium bistro?

Also for breakfast, do they offer lox (smoked salmon)?

Some ships/cruise lines make you ask for it, others have it out, some don't have it at all.

Does anyone have the main dining room menus  for each night (7 day cruise) or know where I can find them?

And last, not sure this is the right place to ask this question...

Can anyone share the most recent showtime menu schedule for the week? I know it changes weekly but I'd just like to see the most recent.

    Thank you.

I was on this sailing.   On our statement, there was a 10 fee refunded per person for each of the 5 people in my family, which people online said was the DR fee.  You might want to recheck your statement.

I read that it was for getting into Antigua 2 hours late.

  21. I was the Getaway from the Jan 8-20. One of our stops was supposed to be Puerto Plata,Dominican Republic. Prior to the cruise, we found out that we were no longer going to that post, not was it being replaced by another. We asked onboard whether we would recieve credit/money back for a missed port. They told us that corporate headquarters in Miami was in charge and, once they (guest services desk) were informed, they would let us know. We never heard anything.

When we got home we wrote an email to corporate headquarters about getting compensation for port and tax fees for missing Puerto Plata.

Received an email back which says:

"Unfortunately, we are not offering any refunds of taxes or fees due to the itinerary change."

They canceled this port prior to the beginning of the cruise. They didnt replace it with another port. Why no refund? Has anybody else experienced this?
