  1. Quick update messaged them on Twitter and FB on Wednesday morning got a reply this afternoon basically asked them who are they waiting for to clarify the amount of changes before it becomes significant this is the reply so have politely asked them to read the question and told them I’m quite aware of the T&Cs and didn’t ask for any compensation just the answer to a simple question

It is possible that you may miss Key West.  I am not sure if the current situation, but it is a port which is wanting to restrict cruise ships.  It was skipped from the Ventura itinerary last March and is not on that itinerary for 2025, which we have booked.  It is on the same itinerary for next Feb, but I would not be surprised if it is cancelled at some stage.

Yes, I was aware there have been cancellations of ships doing Panama recently, so yes a possibility if water levels remain low.

It’s already been put back a day because a Carnival ship is showing as being in port the same day presumably

It’s not a copy and paste - it’s a TAs summary of the situation. In the TAs words.

P&O know the answer to the question. It’s P&O’s policy to only talk about confirmed changes. They are just not prepared to talk about hypotheticals, nor should they have to.

So you’re saying the TA are lying and have not contacted P&O even though it says in the final paragraph P&O are awaiting clarification which indicates to me they have been in contact

I did read the first post, and as I added, it may be that they don’t know the answer yet as it may be that other changes are possibly pending.

If you are asking them “how many more changes would be required to make it a significant change” I would expect they probably have a formula, but that it would be fluid and reflect the nature of the change and the reason. Therefore I wouldn’t expect they can answer you.

I’d have thought the same that they would have a formula  like 20% change of ports or something similar but it appears they are just making it up as they go along, now why does that not surprise me.

But it isn’t significant. Two Caribbean ports replaced by two others. As far as itinerary goes, it’s essentially a like for like swap - even if they are different islands.

I knew we wouldn’t be able to do it with these few changes was asking for future reference. The answer the TA has given me is from P&O regarding they don’t know what a significant change is for one of their own cruises not the TA answering that part of the question. So if P&O don’t know who is supposed to?

I wouldn’t think this is a significant change relative to the whole holiday. For me it would mean “booked for the canaries, changed to the Fjords”. I also wouldn’t expect changes due to anything out of their control to be classed as significant unless it meant the whole thing needed to be changed.

I know it’s disappointing when you have your heart set on something, but I wouldn’t expect them to refund for a couple of ports being swapped for other ports in the same vicinity, or accounting for such a small portion of the actual trip as a whole.

I would have thought they have a set criteria (percentage of dates changed etc) that counts as “significant”.

Edited to add: is it possible that they are possibly expecting further changes to occur, and therefore they are holding off until that is confirmed?

If you read the first post they don’t know themselves what constitutes a significant change and we knew we wouldn’t get anything for 2 changes but would like to know if anything else changes

Why not forward the reply highlighting the worrying bit to the people you dealt with previously at Carnival House as well as speed is needed here and you'd be within the must reply in 28 days if you write in the next day.

I’ll message them tomorrow always get a faster response on there. One of the other changes is only one sea day from Key West to New Orleans which seems a big ask according to others on our group

I'd be more worried about the ominous waiting for information as to what constitutes a significant change for this cruise.  If the final payment date is 5/6 weeks away I'd seek clarification from P&O urgently as to what this means.

Personally I would read that as a high possibility something else may be changing imminently.  Two ports being changed isn't unusual on Caribbean cruises but this rather strange comment would definitely ring alarm bells before I parted with a substantial amount of cash next month.

I’ve asked the TA to chase it up, the next change we think will be losing the partial transit of the Panama as they’re already limiting the cargo vessels transiting due to a very dry spell and not enough water in the lakes

Read somewhere else that it used to be a cover charge only , then changed to individual items , then cover charge which is removed from menu cost !

Correct and not cheap. Couldn’t book any restaurants prior to boarding 313/4. Also used the app for glasshouse one night only to be told after waiting for an hour for it to tell us our table was ready that they use a waitlist now which overrides the app no prior warnings for this

P&O offer two cable car excursions at Andalsnes. A £99 one with an hours walk at the top and a £125 one with a light lunch in the restaurant at the top. With a return ticket costing £45 I will go if the weather is good and have a light lunch at the top. The £80 saving should cover that.

We’re on next week as well thinking of doing the same as you far cheaper doing it independently.

Thanks for the review we are sailing on her aug 24. So i am reading lots of the reviews people post.

I dont think P&O are marketing towards bad parents and kids. With so much competition and better younger ships with better facilities for children  esp( waterslides etc) P&O have to make up for that by offering better pricing. We got two weeks p&o greek islands cruise for less than 1 week on royal Oasis of the seas from barcelona. Better value for money. However that should not equate to bad parents and kids. But we have seen the same bad parents and kids on oasis of the seas in feb. What is disappointing is lack of staff stopping said behaviour.

As for sunbeds and buffet, every ship is busy in that area, esp sea days 🤷. Also dont forget even in the main restaurant most of the food is cooked well in advance and just warmed up on hot plates.

You’ll have hit the jackpot if you get warm food on Azura no chance at all of anything hot🤦‍♂️😂

I already have copies of the logs as after day 1 I told them I did not trust them and wanted to see their written notes which I photographed on my phone.  I also insisted they informed the medical centre of my issues regarding anxiety and stress.  This too I have a note of.  Every meeting that was booked I took the name of the person who made the meeting, the time I spoke with them and response given.  I photographed the list I was shown showing I was number 34 in the queue of complainants. If the person didn't keep the appointment they'd made I insisted a colleague tell me exactly why and recorded it.

As you know I worked in the law and with politicians all my working life and as a result I record absolutely everything either manually in a contemporaneous note during a meeting (people really don't like that and get flustered) or asking to have copies of anything I have discussed if they are taking meeting notes within an agreed time frame.  I took multiple photographs of the babies in swimming pools and swim up bars, the queues and screenshots of the app being down as well.  A large amount of this documentation and photographs were sent, some in support of my email sent while I was onboard. By then I was pretty desperate and genuinely contemplating getting off in Palma.

My only regret is I didn't get to photograph the naked man!

Obviously minor irritations and small things are something that are soon forgotten.  However this time they really did press all the wrong buttons with their attitude and as a result I'm afraid I went into full build an evidence mode.

I've never actually made a formal complaint to a cruise line before so it will be interesting to see how they react.

On the plus side I did tell them I thought the food and entertainment were excellent!

I regret not being as thorough as you were but I get fed up of taking pics of inadequate, cold  portions in the MDR, our toilet malfunctions might have given a few on here a thrill and then the incursion into our cabin well I’m saying no more! I’ll hand over to those that think P&O are the greatest thing since sliced bread. No doubt in their minds I’ve imagined all this but 30 cruises before Covid never had cause to complain once, 4/5 after Covid I’ve been given a season ticket at reception 🤷‍♂️

Just had my reply from Mr Ludlow's office that my complaint is being investigated and they are sorry I have had need to contact them on the issues both whilst onboard and now from home.  Still has Sture on the footer, has he not gone yet?

Same here had a couple of replies via email and a phone call with profuse apologies and received requested onboard logs of issues which were totally inaccurate so replied to that two weeks ago since then total silence so have cancelled our Iona cruises. 3 more on Aurora to suffer then no more for us had enough we’ll stick with companies who provide a decent customer service from now on adios P&O

Lobster in Boston pretty good. Some of the ones on P&O look smaller than actually legal to catch. Should throw them back in the sea!

Must be a smaller MLS in USA/Canada we’d be jailed for landing them that size here

I love lobster  - well, if cooked properly - but in all our P&O cruises the only decent ones have been in Epicurean and Sindhu.

The times lobster has been served in the MDRs and other venues it has been a pitiful amount and woefully over-cooked: chewing on elastic bands while reading Paul Ludlow’s never-to-be best seller “How to reduce the customer experience by 99.9%” is a more pleasurable experience.

It doesn’t help that the lobsters are cheap American/Canadian imports either P&O couldn’t afford the native ones

Sorry - think I now understand why the website shows an advance price of £40.45 per day for me. I think this must already include not only the advance purchase 10% discount but also my own club tier discount ?

You need to proceed to basket before loyalty discount is applied.  The classic package is £36-40pp for us an increase of 40p if purchased in advance

Yes, I noticed the prices on non alcohol stuff look like the biggest uplifts.  I'm glad it's good for some.

Watching the performance in Brodies this afternoon as the football was on television and it was a cold wet day with people hunting for things to do I'm sure a lot would have appreciated the package being extended today if it could have been!

It’s the chance you take isn’t unlucky for some. Dare I say I hope you’re having a better experience onboard today and please keep us up to date with your experience on your thread

I'm strictly PAYG so notice small price increases more.  Solo travelling I drink very little alcohol, one g&t if I'm going to something musical and sometimes a cocktail if it's something different.

Fully understand that. Just for example my drink of choice as PAYG has gone up from £4-95 to £5-05 and the OH wine also only up 10p so no massive increases
