We just booked a cruise for January 2024 (on Koningsdam) - the last time I cruised on HAL was December 2006, so I’m interested to see how things have changed and I’ll report back to you! (We did do a QM2 crossing last year and that was what I remember HAL in the 90s as being like, when I was a teenager, and based on what I’ve read here on CC and seen elsewhere, I’m looking forward to seeing how things have changed.)

This thread/these breakdowns of food, service, etc are so helpful- thank you! We’ve sailed Celebrity and Cunard recently but just booked with HAL, a line I last sailed in 2006, because of scheduling and convenience factors. I’ve been trying to find comparisons so we know what we can expect and this is the first I’ve seen for post-covid comparisons.

In terms of Barcelona hotels- I’ve stayed twice in the Hotel Pulitzer and been delighted both times. It’s got a terrific rooftop terrace and while it’s a short stroll to the gothic quarter, it’s also a short stroll to most other places of interest which is nice.

We did! We crossed in July and I had a wonderful time- the food was all very very good and I cannot wait for another opportunity to cross.
