Wondering if they still have the limited but very special dinners, tours, etc.    It’s been 5 years but you checked and signed up when you boarded the ship. Anyone know if these still exist and what they’re called now??

Ship tours were discontinued when covid hit. You could do the kitchen galley tour. As far as special dinners go, yes, they're still offered.

I know that ,Captain Smith left the Discovery to deal with family matters. Does anyone have any updates ?  Googling has not gotten much information

Unfortunately for us, I believe he's no longer with Princess. As to why, no one seems to know... I wish him the best.

I' getting the same message for March 5 cruise out of Singapore.   Its paid in full and within there stated time frame.

I have a guaranted (OF) Ocean View, if that would make a difference.

I got on online chat with princess, explained everything.    Only answer I got was try again later.  They could not explain why I was getting the "not eligible" message.

First time cruising with Princess, not a good start.

Why isn't it a good start? You booked the cabin you wanted at the price you wanted. Now, you just want to upgrade for less... there may not be cabins available to bid on. Princess has to keep cabins for guarantee assignments and emergencies. There are never any guarantees with the bidding process.

We are booked on Discovery Princess for next April (the total eclipse cruise). Is the bar in Take Five like Adagio on Grand Class ships - ie. only open in the evening - or is it open earlier in the day? We are booked for dinner each night on Deck 6 which is where Take Five is located. I'm wondering if it is open for pre-dinner drinks or if booking dinner on deck 5 (near Good Spirits) is more convenient for pre-dinner drinks. (We prefer Vines before dinner but there is no Vines on Discovery Princess.)

It's open but many special occasions are held there, such as the platinum, elite and suite passengers lounge, the singles or LGBTQ meet-ups also.
