Formal night and we came out of our cabin and started down the hall. a door 5 or so cabins in front of us opens and an elderly gentleman walks out into the hall in nothing but his whitey tighties (thank god he had those on!). Looks left then right to us as the door shuts behind him. realizing his mistake he starts beating on the door yelling his wife name. the look on his face was priceless as it took a minute for what he had done to click and there were a lot of people in the hall to boot.

I appreciate the Info for sure, I will look at the prints, i think I will tell my wife customs wont let you bring back shoes ;>). after Rome we are headed to Greece (santorni/athens) hoping for some epic olives and oil there. for unique leather since you mentioned it, I go to Australia a lot for work and found this place
they are in many cities there, really good boot and belts if you want a good gift, they have cowboy culture there in almost all of the rural areas and a lot of leather shops. williams is very high quality.
sorry to hear the platter story, I know that one hurt!
thanks again for the info!!

You have extensive knowledge in the rome/italy area. what are your must have take back home things from this area. I assume wine is at the top of most peoples lists, what else do you find best here? We are coffee snobs, always get Blue Mountain in Jamaica and Kona in Hawaii. I have lived in Germany a couple of years in the past and assume coffee not much different, is it remarkable?

Turkey Lira question
in Other Mediterranean and Black Sea Ports
Posted
sorry, I found the answer and not smart enough to delete thread. In case you have same question here is what I found
"The Turks are wonderful entrepreneurs and most shops that deal with tourists will accept other currencies including US Dollars and Euros. That being said, you are likely to get an awful exchange rate. If you have a credit card (MC or Visa) that does not charge foreign exchange fees this is often the best way to make purchases (even small purchases). However....if given the option to pay in the local currency (i.e. Turkish Lira) or your own currency (these options are common with credit card transactions) you should always choose the "local currency."
