Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/20)

  1. We have been on the Icon 3 times and were on the inaugural cruise. Here are some must dos: 1. Each bar on board has 5 specialty cocktails for that particular bar. Try a bunch and see what you like. 2. 1400 Lobby bar is super nice! 3. Kevin Philip the pub singer is a must see! 4. Aquadome market is a must it is really good. 5. I know it is expensive but go to the Milkshake shop outside of basecamp. Good for kidsa nd adults. 6. Swim and Tonic pool is pretty cool. 7. Surfside eatery for the kids is good. They all seem to love it. 8. Try the Overlook Bar int he front of the ship. It is great for sunset etc. 9. Ice show and Comedy are must sees. 10. Quest is a must as well. Always fun. 11. I like the Hideaway Pool on Port Days as it is not crowded at all. Have a Blast, we go back December 9 Mike
  2. They advertise Vintages but it is not what you think. It is a small square bar in front of Giovanni. Basically a bar that seats about 8 people and they call it vintages. No real wine sulcation there.
  3. They are calling Vintages the bar that is in the front area of Giovanni's. We were there on the first sailing and walked right by it. It is a small counter with about 10 bar seats and a railing with some hi tops. There are two Bar Tenders there as they make all the drinks for the specialty. No walls or anything it is in the open.
  4. Nice! My wife and I were asked to test this new concept when we were sailing on the Symphony. Basically this was in development and they set up and entire elevator bank in one of the lower conference rooms. We were tasked to get to certain destinations on the Icon and give our feedback. Glad to see that is now in fully swing and being received well.
  5. We will be there on the 27th as well. We are also booked for May. Look forward to meeting everyone and the new Icon!
  6. I lost a day just like you. I would gladly give it up to ensure someone get the medical care they need. Royal is paying you back for the day kissed so not sure what the big complaint is. Some here fell like when Royal makes any type of move it is an opportunity to make something or get something for free. We got on board today and I will have a blast no matter what!
  7. Agree. I do not think these scenarios deserve any type of compensation.
  8. Class act! I feel the same. Question do they have Crown Royal on board? I heard they resigned the contract for that but it has been hit and miss.
  9. Very good comment. let me through this out to the group for discussion: 1. You are scheduled to go to Cococay and can’t get to the dock due to wind. Do you expect Royal to compensate you? 2. you are scheduled to go to Cococay and get there on time. It is raining like crazy and not pleasant to even get off the ship. Should Royal compensate you?
  10. Almost makes you want to stay till next Sunday……I will buy you a drink LOL
  11. Wow you got an awesome deal. Free extra day on a nice cruise ship, food, activities, and entertainment for no charge. Wish I was on that end. Enjoy it!!!!
  12. I still don’t understand why Royal has to compensate you because of an issue not caused by them? They did not book your flight or hotel. I have options when I book flights or hotels to cancel or reschedule without penalty if I elect to go this route. If they did in fact cause the issue be some type of neglect the. They should refund you for the vacation. Not the travel to and from the vacation. How about time off work? Are they responsible for that as well?
  13. Right! I think we need a new thread: Diamond Plus - should I get the extended drink package for half price or just use my vouchers! Lol I can see bitching if Royal caused this. This was an unforeseen medical emergency on board. Please are not paying for an extra day on board, food, entertainment, activities, and loyalty point. So to me $40 for a drink package for the day is not a big deal.
