  1. I'm going to shop around and see what i can find for extra bathroom storage. I watched a few Jade videos and there appears to be two towel racks and 4 hooks on the inside of the bathroom door.  Not sure an over the door organizer will work. Storage is going to be tight for an 11 day cruise.

Every so often - well maybe TOO Often - like 10 days to 2 weeks
the water issue up and rears its ugly head in yet again another thread about WATER !
Cruisers have a need and want to know about WATER !

Rules of the road (ah er SEA) !

NCL has a monoply on all beverages on board -

Do not pass GO (security) with any beverages - wine OK to be tariffed with a corkage fee
Recent issues with EMPTY bottles of beverages brought on board - issue unsettled
NCL can't seem to understand that it's guests would like to put NCL water in their own container #!?
Bring your own EMPTY water carrying vessel to fill either in your cabin or at the dispenser in the Buffet ***
*** usual transfer protocol - do not fill your container directly from the spigot but use a glass provided
at the buffet. Want Ice Water (ice in with water) suggest using a WIDE-mouth bottle - crushed ice is available
    at the buffet.

Thirsty - read on for more watered down info - - -

There are beverage packages available - none include water
UBP - Ultimate (not Unlimited) beverage package - does not include water coffee (Irish OK) lattes expressos
Corks & Cap - a beer and wine package - no water
    Viva-Vino - a wine package - no water
What part of water do you not understand at this point !

Water packages available to purchase - suggest doing this in advance to avoid Room Service charges

General info about brands of water on NCL

Aqua fina - bottled by Pepsi (a collusion with NCL)

Acqu apanna - bottled water from Italy (NCL European cruises ?)

While in some ports you may see a fire hose hooked up to a hydrant on the port - bunkered water.
NO that is not your regular drinking water - although it is potable city water that is used for the laundry
hot tubs and deck washing etc.
The ships can make their own water while at sea underway but it costs in extra fuel burning to
boil and distill or other method so loading up (bunkering) is a less expensive method.

No water molecules were hurt damaged distilled in posting this but a few where put forth in sweat.

Funny a ship at sea - Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink !

    LOLing :classic_biggrin:

Every single navy boy knows that still water doesn't mean it's from a lake.  Still water is short for "distilled water"  Water (can be salt or fresh (from reverse osmosis or shore source)) that is  boiled into steam and then condensed into water (just like your all hard liquors are except it's alcohol).  The water from distillation is as near to pure as is possible since almost all "things" in the water are left behind like the stuff in your kettle or coffee maker pot.  Usually you have to actually add minerals to it so that it has some taste and doesn't suck those same minerals out of your cells.  That's why it's treated, to mineralize it.  AS is Aquafina, they take tap water from your city, use the same process and put it in a bottle.

Still water is not short for distilled water :classic_biggrin:

    still water

    ExamplesWord Origin
    noun
    1. a part of a stream that is level or where the level of inclination is so slight that no current is visible.
  4. I just called NCL. I was told that the pre purchased water sold in  cases is still Aquafina.  AND that the free bottled water onboard is the NCL bottled water. Anyone recently cruise and purchased a case? Was it Aquafina?

I'm surly not going to pay for "still water" that's been treated.

I did have to look up still water......sounds gross! AKA pond water :classic_wacko:

  5. Thank you all. To clarify I am aware that you cannot bring your own water onboard. We will be on a 11 day Panama cruise. So my conflict is do I pre purchase the 12 pack and not have enough or go with the 24 pack and probably have to much. I’m leaning towards the 24 pack. I thought if single bottles were reasonably priced I could pre purchase the 12 pack and buy single bottles while on board.

As for the ships water it bothers my sensitive stomach so that wouldn’t work. Thank goodness the ice in the drinks I can tolerate.

  6. Thank you all!!! Your info helps with the packing. And good to know that the Pacific dining room wants the men in pants. We have only sailed NCL once before, i think..... so i forget the rules etc. Carnival would always have two "Elegant" nights where men would have to wear pants. Luckily my husband is easy going and will wear whatever i pack for him.😉

What time do the main dining rooms open for dinner? We usually eat say 6:00pm. Any need to pre arrange reservations at that time? And if so how is that done? Once onboard? :classic_biggrin:

  7. Sailing The Jade  April 2019. Are there any nights in the main dining room that are more formal then the other nights? We have 4 specialty restaurants with our package. I want to make sure i don't book one for a night when the main dining rooms might have, say lobster. If so what nights would they be on an 11 day? Also are there any restaurants on The Jade where pants for men are required?

    Thanks

  8. Sailing on the Jade 11 day Panama next April. I've looked at the pictures of the balcony rooms on the Jade. But its hard to see what kind of storage there is. Is there only one closet, and then some shelves? Anyone with balcony storage pictures?

    TY!!!
