  1. Thank you for your reply. I will do as you suggested. Yes, it would be nice if Princess would be more informative. Using scheduled maintance is not believable.
  2. Thank you for your reply. This is our second cruise to Alaska. We booked this cruise because of Glacier Bay. So we are going to stick with it . I am sorry your first experience was disappointing.
  3. Yes, thank you I should have done so.
  4. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I should have clarified I was speaking regarding the Crown. We are going to stay on the Crown no matter what happens with the ports.
  5. thank you for clarifying what I was trying to say.. I was trying to be clear and obviously I wasn't. Regardless if Princess makes any changes we will still be going. Again thank you.
  6. I am sorry I do not know how to explain it any better.
  7. In Seattle we are using Port Valet https://www.portseattle.org/page/port-valet-enjoy-seattle-luggage-free
  8. I do not know if anyone can answer this but I would love to hear your thoughts/opinions. What changes overnight from May, June & July cruises, with the changes of ports and times in port and the omission of the inside passage and then the August and September cruises are the original ports, times (with the exception of leaving Seattle at 3pm instead of 4pm) and still includes the inside passage? My son thinks they are waiting until after final payment (due at the end of this month) to announce the changes for August and September. I am the eternal optomist and I am hoping they are simply confident they will have the propulsion issues fixed by then. ☺️.What are your thoughts? As for me, I am going to have a wonderful time no matter what they do😁
  9. Thanks for your reply and suggestions....I will check into them
  10. thank you for your response. Your suggestion regarding a private tour is one I may look into.
  11. Oh mercy....I am so concerned that something like that might happen. Thanks for sharing your experience and your wise suggestion regarding pre-arranged transportation.
  12. My DIL is limited in what she can do due to her back..has had 3 surgeries. We did the train and walked around and saw some of the places of note. She seems to be more interested in what is being offered in Haines. And so far we haven't found any tour offered by Priness to Haines. But I am concerned about something happening and not getting back to the ship on time. But we are in port 7am to 8:30pm..that's a long time without a plan 😬 Thanks for your reply.
  13. Has anyone reading taken the ferry from Sklagway to Haines on their own. We are looking at doing it as Princess isn't offering it. There are several museums, art galleries, these below American Bald Eagle Foundation Jilkaat Kwaan Heritage Center Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve we thought this would make an interesting day trip..... Would love to hear the opinions of anyone who has been there, done that😊
  14. We are booked for the 8/27/22 cruise and so far this is what we are seeing Inside Passage (with Glacier Bay National Park)
  15. thank you so much...I don't know diddly about knots and I am ever so grateful to people such as yourself that do and share your knowledge.
  16. thank you...that was what I was thinking...and as long as I am cruising I am a happy person..
  17. I understand that...here's the first part of my post..... 'I know noone knows for sure...but what is your best guess'
  18. That doesn't answer my question. But thank you for your suggestion.
  19. I know noone knows for sure...but what is your best guess...will Princess get this Crown problem fixed or will they wind up taking it out of service? If that's the case any idea what they would do as far as their passengers go. I know they have the right to change ports of call...but what if they just dry dock the ship until/if it gets fixed.
  20. IMPORTANT NOTICES ITINERARY AND FLIGHT GUIDELINE CHANGE Please be advised that due to operational considerations, Crown Princess will now sail from Seattle at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 rather than at 4:00 PM as previously scheduled. All guests must be aboard by 2:30 PM. As a result of this change, our embarkation flight guideline in Seattle has changed. The latest flight arrival time in Seattle is now 12:00 noon. If you have already booked a flight that will arrive later than 12:00 noon, we recommend you rebook your flight to an earlier arrival time. We understand you may incur unexpected expenses for air change fees or increased air cost as a result of this change. Please visit www.princess.com/refund-request for details on submitting a refund request. We regret any inconvenience this change may cause and look forward to welcoming you aboard Crown Princess. The revised itinerary displays in full at the end of this notification.
  21. We are on the Crown on 8/27/22 and were wondering if there were any menu changes or additions to sailing going to Alaska. We went 5 years ago and didn't eat in the main dining rooms as we had several specality restaurant gifts. And the remainer of the time we went to either the buffet or other casual eateries or room service. This year we plan to eat in the main diningroom (s) and was wondering if there were any specialty items we should look for. Moose stew? Reindeer sausage? Yak chile?😁
