below the main lounge showroom,
In my experience, they're mostly done using the main lounge by a reasonable time anyway, so noise at night shouldn't be a huge factor. During the day they do closed rehearsals and teching, but you'll be out and about and likely won't notice it unless your family are nappers while cruising.

I've never seen a drug dog at the embarkation port. Has anyone else?
Yes. Multiple times- at Galveston and at Long Beach.

This is the most disturbing part of the article !
Eh, not really.
They often will just bring their dogs onboard and if they stop at a particular cabin, the cruise line has to permit the locals entry.

I am hearing after Icon RCI will then make smaller ships like Radiance size or slightly bigger.
I hope so. I really want to see more unique journeys that don't just hit Cozumel/Belize/Costa Maya or Ensenada/PV/Catalina on the other side. Smaller ships allow for much more unique itineraries that I would much rather spend my money on.

I feel like Cruise with Ben and David did a similar route on either the Mardi Gras or Celebration and seemed to have an excellent time. Either way, they are both new ships and you'll find a diverse mix of folks onboard. I've never had a bad time on a Carnival cruise 🙂

I'm wondering if he's giving a heads up since it might cause some extra noise and wants folks with balconies to not be surprised if there is suddenly a very close up view of the lock walls at 6am?

I wish we could do something to alert RC of this problem and it is necessary for us to know the direction our cabin is going.
Could you request an accessible cabin and note the need, or call their special needs department and request a room that ensures what you need?

Like when you suggest kids are behaving poorly and someone jumps in to say that they may have a disability as an excuse.
I appreciate you jumping in, but I'm genuinely curious what the original poster of the comment meant.

Businesses don't stop advertising just because business is good. 🙂
Very true. When I worked at a big company who likes to advertise with a lizard (pre-covid), the owner billionaire wanted to put another billion into marketing efforts on top of what they were already spending, despite being absolutely huge already. It's a business function, and it's clearly working for RCL.

Very obscure event (doesn't show in hub app, but was on the fun times)
For those wondering, it's usually not listed under activities but under "dining" in the app on sea days only. It's very strange, but makes it a much more intimate event in my experience.

But I guess I'm not allowed to share that opinion on this forum.
As with anything in life, it's about how the message is shared.

I was on the Radiance a few weeks back and did video calls back home over facetime with no problem- on a ship without starlink. You might want to double check what telehealth platform your doctor is using. I'd imagine if it were just zoom, you might be able to get an audio call in (possibly video) okay.

Yes, but this time he was telling "untruths".
How do we know that?
His quote was "ship was never in danger during the storm. He emphasized that the captain made decisions prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew"
Which part was an "untruth?"

Do they charge a fee for booking?
The good ones don't. Some of the websites that act as TA's have booking fees that, in my experience, aren't worth it in most cases. I did use one of these websites once and they charged a $25 fee but the deal I was getting was well worth it for a one time thing.

Has anyone booked Carnival through a TA and gotten onboard credit?
I'm currently in the process of booking for December '23 and have found a TA who is giving double the OBC that Carnival is offering while also giving us the same price Carnival is quoting for the same category room. There's a certain website where they can compete that I've always used to compare overall offers and see if I can get more.

You could always call and ask nicely to see if they can move you to the starboard side of the ship- the bulk of the casino is on the port side. Honestly the volume in the casino isn't that loud, though.

There's some video links on facebook that show some of the swells they were sailing in, and it doesn't look fun for most folks (unless you like roller coasters like I do!).

This is a dishonest businessthat tricks customers into using their service by promising a discount and thenrefuses to honor their contract with the customer.
I took them up on the same deal and got it- usually the 10% is if you book using the app (but i've also seen via the website). I was able to get the 10% and don't see this as a dishonest business practice- usually if it didn't work it's something to do with your internet browser or the cookies from the website.

If the noise was really the issue, they would have moved and taken the lesser money.
You've got a point. The noise level must not have been truly insufferable or excessive if OP was willing to accept what amounts to fun money vs getting a good nights rest.
Venezia to sail from Port Canaveral
in Carnival Cruise Lines

As economical as this might be, I hope they don't kill these itineraries. RCL is known for sending some of their newer and/or "amplified" ships on unique, longer itineraries and Carnival really needs to compete with them for that market share with the Celebration and Mardi Gras, IMHO.
