Update to my original post: I can happily say everything went super smoothly. Been on 5 cruises now since that original post and haven’t had any issues. I just bring my normal night diapers and also disposable bed mats. I use the bed mat as a backup but haven’t had to use it. I found scented dog bags on Amazon that I bring and place the wet diaper in and leave it in the trash. I put the bed mat on the first day and then change it every few days usually. Haven’t had any issues with the room attendants. They leave the bed mat on the bed (it has adhesives to keep it in place) and make the bed up with it still on. I always just tip extra to my room attendant for their help and consideration.

Any suggestions on which on your opinion is best option(s)?

Any suggestions on which ships in particular you had good experience on?

Considering Royal Princess for a cruise to Alaska, would you recommend it?

Thanks, @Kiran! I’ll be bringing my normal night diapers but then also disposable bed mats as well. Figure at least one for each night plus one extra. I don’t anticipate needing them as usually I’m fine but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Better to overprepare than get caught under prepared!

Thanks - I wasn’t sure if checking bags on cruises was different process or scanners than flying is. my worry is more if I’m traveling with others so I’d prefer to not have security go through the bag in front of them

Do you know if the wipes ever cause any issues going through security? I read somewhere that someone said their bag was flagged because when the wipes went through the scanner they couldn’t tell what it was so they then went through the bag. I’d refer to avoid that! Haha

I have some disposable pads I am trying out now before my trip but j definitely plan on bringing them as back up each night to the diapers. May be a silly question, but do you put the pad over the bed sheet or under it (between the mattress and sheet)? I’ve seen people mention it both ways.

Thanks! I do have disposable bed mats that I bring with me when I travel to use along with a diaper. was hoping the cruise line would have a mattress protector too as well just to cover all bases!
