  1. I found one that fits my interests perfectly on AIDA-Prima. The language on the ship is German, and though it may be a challenge, I welcome it somewhat happily. The buffet meals are not a problem as we prefer flexible eating times. What I'm wondering about is the value of the drink package. We are not big drinkers, mainly beer, non-alcoholic beer and diet Coke or Coke Zero and water. Does anyone have a price list of the drinks in the bars and entertainment venues?
  2. I cruised on MSC in the Baltic Sea - The Majestic. It was our very first cruise approx 5 years ago. We loved everything about our experience. We have since cruised on Holland america and Princess. Our favorite cruiseline so far was Holland America as far as service and Princess is the least favorite, mainly because they were understaffed and really catered to anyone that was tipping generously. MSC ship was beautiful, the service was very good, the food was amazing. The ship was BIG. Our friends didn't like it because they found it too big. Elevators couldn't keep up with the demand, so we had to give ourselves a bit of time and not get frustrated when going for breakfast or to the pool. It was by far the FUNNEST cruise as far as entertainment after 9pm with a good variety of things to do. I would go with MSC if the itinerary has what you want. I also pick cruises based on itinerary and the actual ship doesn't matter much.
  3. Yes, If we choose the 7 day, we will do 5 day driving tour of Iceland then fly to southhampton to board the cruise ship. I appreciate your input - It's rare to find someone who has done both. and the 2025 -2026 itineraries rarely include both. Still looking but I'm now leaning towards the the 7 day.
  4. Geiranger - looking for input. I'm torn between two itineraries. The one (Celebrity) cruises to Geiranger, Flam and Bergen (7 day from Southhampton) The other is 10 days, starting in Iceland, visiting Alesund Flam and Bergen, with 3 ports in Iceland. I love the idea of the 10 days and visiting Iceland, but I was looking forward to cruising to Geiranger... NCL Is there a significant diffirence between Flam and Geiranger? or are they similar in scenery. You have been to both, what are your thoughts?
