Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Good luck!! I hope you get what you're after, and enjoy your cruise
  2. Unfortunately not, i was hoping to get balcony approval but got accepted for Oceanview. With this being our first cruise, and a relatively new member on here, and not reading up on the process, i may have just bid on the balcony and hoped for the best. Can't complain as we've been assigned an oceanview with a large picture window in what seems like a great area of the ship
  3. I was the same as yourself, bid on oceanview and balcony, and my bids were nearly at the lowest rate possible. I sail on Sunday and got my upgrade accepted a week ago
  4. I'm not 100% sure if you're fishing for bites with your posts, but then again it wouldn't surprise me if you're actually serious!! Without addressing all the points you've highlighted in your post, the obvious thing is you seem to be stuck in the way of the world back in the 40's and 50's, and not forthcoming to changes in society. But hey, you seem ok with using a computer or a smart phone to post your reply which is surprising, as I'd assumed you would pen a letter using a quill and a bottle of ink, and send it to Cruise Critic via carrier pigeon!!
  5. I’ve just had my bid accepted from inside stateroom to ocean view stateroom. I also bid on a balcony room. Is there an option to bid again for the balcony room ? Thanks in advance
  6. We also have the standard premium package, but noticed the wine selection didn't have much in the sauvignon blanc options. We toyed with upgrading to the plus package, but now with being able to bring your own wine onboard without incurring a corkage fee, we'll just buy our choice of wine and take and take to dinner with us.
  7. Great stuff, many thanks for the quick reply
  8. The only reason we would possibly upgrade to the plus is for the Starbucks and the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, which seems to have only one choice on the menu. Now with the new policy, it seems our best option would be to stick with the standard Free at Sea deal and purchase our own wine at Port, and just buy the Starbucks. Excuse what will sound like a pretty dumb question to most, but as this is my first cruise I'm going to ask it anyway. The 2 drinks pp policy, would that be for example, if i ordered a grey goose vodka, would the other drink have to be my mixer? Or do they class a mixer as part of the spirit price? TIA
  9. We haven’t sailed yet, it was ziggyuk above that has tested the new policy out. We have a few days in Athens pre cruise, so depending on cost we’ll either buy wine there or bring some from the UK with us
  10. Great news, thanks for testing the new rule change. Were, or are you able to bring the bottle to dinner with you? We were going to upgrade our drinks package to allow us to have bottles with our meal, but this new rule could be a game changer. TIA
  11. I don’t understand the Greece restriction, as you are not required to show your vaccination status to enter the country, so why is it different for a cruise leaving Piraeus?
  12. Any research I've done certainly the selection seems to be limited. My wife likes New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, but there's no mention in the Premium Package, in fact, there seem to be very few choices of Sauvignon Blanc at all. Even on the Premium Plus, her preference is rare, but we are going to upgrade anyway for other selections of drinks, and the Starbucks
  13. JB thank you for this, I’ve just seen the reply in work, so will absorb in more detail when home. Comprehensive info right there 😀
