  1. As already stated, you are wasting money you have paid for the transfer. It is cheaper to Uber/taxi in FLL.
  2. If you are not staying at a hotel, are you flying in to FLL for a same day cruise from the Port of Miami? If so, I hope you have some extra time built in to the schedule...
  3. Is there a link to the official announcement?
  4. Yes, we took an 8-pack of LaCroix and they didnt even look at it.
  5. We have stayed at both the Hilton Marina and the Renaissance (both on 17th street near Port Everglades) and would recommend either of them.
  6. Uber is easy and usually cheaper than a taxi from FLL. The only problem is you may have to wait a few minutes for them to arrive.
  7. I just got back from sailing in cabin 8201 on Magic. Here is my post on the Stateroom thread . Ship - Magic Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8201 Stateroom Category – 8C Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, last room before the Bridge, absolutely no foot traffic outside. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – View directly forward is blocked by the bridge extension, but it was not an issue at all. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Cabin was slightly warmer than we would like during the day. Any other comments? - Bring a small fan if you prefer a cooler room.

  9. You should call and talk to a Carnival rep. Technically i think it is a cancellation and re-book, but they *might* waive the fees and apply your deposit/pament to the new one. It won't hurt to ask!
  10. Do they have a roll-call thread? Maybe try posting there to see if there was some huge communication blunder? Very strange story!
  11. The fact is (and this comes up in many of the "cutback" threads) that the price of a cruise has not really increased much over the years. I looked back at several standard balcony cruises we took over 10 years ago, and the price per person per day is about the same as our upcoming cruise this year. It is no surprise to me that the pats of individually wrapped butter we had in 2002 have been replaced with a substitute. I know i am in a minority, but i would prefer we had the same service standards as 15 years ago with an adjusted higher price.
  12. Proof of email for the doubting thomas types:
  13. Yes I have a cruise in November, emailed my stockbroker statement on 10/14 and had a response showing the shareholder OBC was credited today 10/16. There is no reason to bother with a fax.
  14. I think you are asking too early...8 months is a long time! She could be in crappy shape now, but could be pristine by June next year 🙂
  15. Not trying to start another tipping thread...but this is a serious question. We have done "pay as you go" for 18 years, but might try Cheers for the first time later this year. We usually tip above the 15% already added to the bill, $1 or $2 per drink, depending on service. {Off topic, but YES this can lead to future drinks from the same bartender/server being exceptionally strong}. For those who have used Cheers, is the "standard" 15% already included? If not (or even if so), do you add additional? Thanks!
