  1. Surprised no one posted this other tidbit from Yesterday (April 7th), but i guess it was overshadowed by the Saudi Arabia announcement. If nothing else, it means some big spenders still believe in Carnival. "With the first insider buy at the company since mid-February, Carnival (NYSE:CCL) board member Randall Weisenburger yesterday picked up $10M worth of stock, buying 1.25M shares at $8 each. He now owns north of 1.375M shares. His purchase follows Saudi Arabia's disclosure of an 8.2% stake in the company. Along with the move in the markets in general, and the cruise line sector in particular, Carnival is ahead another 20% today."
  2. Subscribed to this exciting adventure thread!
  3. Assuming 7-day cruises, the max would be 52 times per year.
  4. It is listed, they just word it as "Priority check-in and boarding" https://www.carnival.com/vifp/benefits.aspx
  5. They use standard metal detectors, so yes your spare parts may set it off. They will ask you a couple questions about the metal parts, run the wand over you and send you on your way.
  6. As already stated, you are wasting money you have paid for the transfer. It is cheaper to Uber/taxi in FLL.
  7. If you are not staying at a hotel, are you flying in to FLL for a same day cruise from the Port of Miami? If so, I hope you have some extra time built in to the schedule...
  8. Is there a link to the official announcement?
  9. Yes, we took an 8-pack of LaCroix and they didnt even look at it.
  10. We have stayed at both the Hilton Marina and the Renaissance (both on 17th street near Port Everglades) and would recommend either of them.
  11. Uber is easy and usually cheaper than a taxi from FLL. The only problem is you may have to wait a few minutes for them to arrive.
  12. I just got back from sailing in cabin 8201 on Magic. Here is my post on the Stateroom thread . Ship - Magic Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8201 Stateroom Category – 8C Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, last room before the Bridge, absolutely no foot traffic outside. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – View directly forward is blocked by the bridge extension, but it was not an issue at all. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Cabin was slightly warmer than we would like during the day. Any other comments? - Bring a small fan if you prefer a cooler room.

  14. You should call and talk to a Carnival rep. Technically i think it is a cancellation and re-book, but they *might* waive the fees and apply your deposit/pament to the new one. It won't hurt to ask!
  15. Do they have a roll-call thread? Maybe try posting there to see if there was some huge communication blunder? Very strange story!
