  1. I just got one of these....thought it might have been a scam too. Got a full $0.03 ! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  2. I have a cruise stop in Funchal (MSC Poesia, Oct 28). It says it is there from 4pm-10pm. There is this food tour that is looking interesting (Madeira Food, Wine, & Culture Tour 2024 (viator.com)). it is about 4 hours, from 5pm-9pm. But the meetup spot is about a 30 min walk depending on where the ship docks on the port (so could be bit shorter if closer to land, or longer if docks at the end of the port strip). But it also doesn't take into account if the ship even gets there in time, and when I can get off the ship, which is what I am worried about most. So just because MSC says 4pm, I am not sure if they mean that to be open cruise ship doors to leave time, or when the ship comes into the harbor and docks (I am not sure how long the process takes from the ship docking to allowing people to walk off). And cruisemapper states the ship to be there from 5pm-10pm (though I am more inclined to believe MSC). So not sure if I should even try the excursion? (I have to make a decision 24 hours before, otherwise, non-refundable). But maybe was thinking on just getting some recommendations for places/restaurants to try out? I am not sure what else to try out there since we get in so late. Lot of people say go up mountain on the cable car, but that closes at 5:45pm. MSC's cruise excursion possibilities leaves much to be desired. (Then again, MSC's excursion offerings as a whole is kinda pathetic if you ask me. Only 4 options per port, but I digress)
  3. No, it is a mix of US and South Korean citizens. I also found this: document-visa-est-mediterranean-summer.pdf (msccruises.com) And it does say: TRANSIT EGYPT: All guest in transit in Egypt will receive a fast trip stamp which is valid for 72 hours (free of charge). Final approval sole decision from Local Authorities It mentions the Canda require pre-issued visa as you mentioned for Canadian citizens. So thinking we should be good? Just wish the MSC agent on the phone was more knowledgeable.
  4. Going on a Med cruise later this year, with stops in Egypt (2 stops, one after the other to Port Said and then Alexandria). Egypt has a Visa on Arrival process that is done at airports, but I don't see any mention about cruise ports. I called MSC but their CS reps don't give me much confidence as to what the answer is. Couldn't give me an answer for 15 minutes before hanging up on me. I called a 2nd time, and they just referred me to some outside company that processes visa's for tourists (visahq.com) which just seems ridiculous (just tell me if it's provided for or if I have to get it ahead of time) I haven't found any specific, recent information on MSC on whether or not provides it to you on ship (Other cruise lines seem to provide it, but not sure how accurate that information is). Travel agent I am talking with does not know 100% for sure but is trying to find the answer too. I figure I can just get the visa ahead of time and not take any chances, but not sure if I need the multi-day VISA since it is 2 days, or if a single entry is ok ? Has anyone gone on a cruise recently to Egypt and know what they do?
  5. How about the Orlando airport? Supposed to fly out Thurs late night and arrive in MCO early Fri morning (6am arrival). MCO is closing Wed at 4pm, and not sure when they will open again. (google search for Ian looked to open 2 days later after closing?). Airline is offering free changes, so wondering if I should do that? Mia/FLL/Tampa? Not sure that our Thurs night flight makes it out since we may not know if the airport reopens thurs night? Leaning towards changing our flight?
