If here is anyone else one this cruise, please feel free to jump in this thread and post your experiences!

Now I've spent the last few weeks reading about all the changes people have seen with NCL since the beginning of 2023.  I'm going into this with an open mind and will do my best to convey what is different now compared to my recent Prima cruise and my last long 14-day trip on the Bliss just before Covid hit.

I was on the dreadful cruise!  It was an oversold, crowded, noisy mess from start to finish!

The 'ATRIUM' was an absolute disaster; the onboard ?shopping was non existent; etc., etc.!

I will NEVER book a cruise with NCL again!

I am with you on this same cruise & hopefully will have the opportunity to meet you onboard!

while most of the time i'm a firm believer in the adage "don't knock it until you've tried it", i googled poutine, and after careful deliberation, i think i'll pass!

Your Cardiovascular System will thank you for the 'pass'!

Of course, being from Detroit and seeing your profile picture, I am now craving Poutine! I think a road trip may be in my near future!

You'll want to travel all the way to 'La Belle Province' where 'Poutine' originated & is made the BEST!

I think that it is one 0.5L carton for the room. Not even per person.

More water can be purchased as part of a package onboard or pre-cruise. Those are normally 1L cartons of water

    6-liter Flow Water Package $19.95

    12-liter Flow Water Package $34.95

    24-liter Flow Water Package $49.95

Of course, being from Canada, it is (much more) when paying online, in Canadian currency!

    That is a mystery.

For us they only retook our photo once out of the past 4 cruises. One time, during on line check in, I had a hard time getting an acceptable photo. I was wearing a shirt that had a colorful leopard print on it. My husband suggested changing my shirt. After that my picture was accepted. Also, watching out for a glare helps.

I got to the point that I did not care what I looked like, as long as it was accepted. Because it does not matter. Think about how you look when you re-board the ship after a windy catamaran ride, snorkeling trip that included unlimited rum punch!

Like a Passport Photo, wear a DARK top; (for 'contrast'); NO eyewear & (maintain) a NEUTRAL pose!

if you're all checked in and the forms are entirely completed, you should be able to click on the cruise docs. in 24 cruises with ncl, they've always been there at least 24 hrs after the check in forms have been completed

My 'E docs' were available to print off 2 hours after I completed/submitted 'Check-In'!

and not just any cheese! Isn't it cheese curds? When I made it at home I used fresh mozarella pearls

Yes, it is Cheese Curds, the good, healthy heart friendly, artery clogging kind of cheese!

I believe your avatar depicts Poutine, does it not? Now I'm hungry.

Yes, 'Poutine', consisting of French Fries, Gravy & Cheese; the 'Holy Trinity' of a Canadian Meal! 😉

What would be even cooler than that is a lapel pin of your absolutely awesome Canadian poutine Venn diagram logo. Where can I get one of those?

Asking for a friend, by which I really mean yours truly because I really want one.

Can't you just click on my avatar, save it to your pic folder, then replace your current avatar with it?

Quite honestly, I can't recall how/where I got that 'Avatar'!  I believe that I may have seen another CC Member with it as their avatar; likely on the HAL CCB; copied it & replaced my (former) avatar with the 'Holy Trinity' of a Canadian meal!

As you know, nobody is forcing you to either take or wear the pin. If you don't want to wear it, fine...your choice. Someone else wants to, fine...their choice. Everyone can do what makes them happy.

Just can't understand why you'd bother painting this with such a negative light on what others may want to do. Can't you simply let others do what they want without throwing shade?

    My thoughts EXACTLY!

All the pins are available at the Cruise Next Desk in the Atrium. 🙂 Make sure to ask for all of them up until your status. They will give them!

Thank you very much for your reply!  I will be sure to visit the 'Cruise/Next' Desk/Counter on my upcoming cruise on the 'Getaway' as soon as it is open after embarcation!

Looks like you are on the Getaway. There is no drop off. You should leave all luggage with the porters and only have a small backpack or carryon bag.

Yes, I understand that I leave my (larger) one bag of 'CHECKED' luggage with the porters, BUT I am wondering IF there is a SECURE (designated) location on the 'Getaway' where I would be able to deposit my (roller) 'CARRY-ON' bag, so that I would NOT have to drag it around with me everywhere on the ship; especially in the ?crowded dining venues; UNTIL an announcement is made that our staterooms are ready; (which I have read here on the NCL CCB 'may' not happen until 2:00 - 2:30 p.m.)!

And when you were “fully checked in,” did you then receive a followup email with your boarding passes?

FWIW: The “boarding passes” are different than the also emailed “final docs” that include your “cruise vacation summary.”

The 'Cruise Documents' that are emailed within a few hours after you have submitted your completed 'Check-In' ALSO is your 'BOARDING PASS', as indicated at the top of the (first page)!  There is ALSO a 'BAR CODE' at the TOP RIGHT-HAND SIDE of the first page of the 'Cruise Documents'! 😉

  16. I am 'Gold' Status and I have never received any information from NCL on the process to obtain a 'Bronze', 'Silver' or 'Gold' Lapel Pin!

Do I have to contact NCL directly in order to have them mailed to me or are all the pins available on each ship, at 'Guest Services'?

Tonight's MDR menu as used on Day 11 - braised beef short ribs was good, food temperature just warm.  Just passable & edible, even Mrs M started noticing the little details ...

Is it possible/necessary to make reservations for dinner in the MDR for 5:30?
