Did you make the request onboard or before hand?

I am debating is I want to bring my 35mm camera. Most of the excursions seem to be in cities and the cell phone works great there. What have other people done?

We have only been on mega-cruise liners before and disembarking took forever. With the smaller ships of SS, how does long does it take? Are there specific groups, times, etc. In short, how does it work on a ship this size?

What is the best way to make special requests?

I just read the last few pages of comments. The word I found most often when quoting the dress code and signage was "suggested". That means SS is providing guidelines, not mandatory rules. As long a people do not show up in a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, who care what the person at the next table is wearing. Let everyone be comfortable, after all this is a vacation.

I am a night owl and my wife is not. I like to watch TV after she goes to bed. I guess I will be watching stored content on my tablet.

When we were booking our NYC - Quebec City, our TA said to start in NYC (we are taking a car service to the port) and flying home from Montreal. She said with the state of the airlines, canceling flights and delays in luggage, it will not matter on the trip home. Worst case, we can spend and extra day in Canada or if our luggage does not make our flight, they can just deliver it to our home. Sounds like it was the right choice to make.

We are booked on a cruise from NYC to Quebec City. There are a number of stops in the USA (Newport,, Boston, Bar Harbor) before entering Canada. Where do you go through Customs / Immigration? When you first board or last US port?

We are cruising for the first time with Silverseas. Do the TV sets on Silver Whisper allow you to plug in a USB stick to watch your own content?
