  1. You can find inexpensive orange accessories on AliExpress or Temu.
  2. We arrived at noon for our recent Eurodam cruise and the line was long though it did move at a decent clip. Everyone must be aboard by 1:30pm though so maybe later would be better. First you drop off your luggage at the luggage drop (that's the first line) then you are directed to the next line with your carry-on bags for passport scanning. Then you walk up the gangway, take a photo with the ship's photog (or dodge them) and board the ship. Then find your cabin and drop your stuff at your room. One of our bags was already there! Once you check out your cabin then you head to lunch on the Lido (deck 9).
  3. Tried the tea today. It was kind of different because everyone filed in at 3pm but not all of the tables had tea treats. Maybe half? Less than half? Waited 20 minutes, no other tea trays seemed forthcoming and two different waiters (why no waitresses?) were unable to say anything about ETA so I left and got fries at the Dive In. Nice fries! I asked the guest services desk when I was getting a non-functional card fixed and they couldn't tell me if this was the first time for the Royal Dutch Tea or not but I suspect it'll get better as it gets more routine.
  4. Hi y'all. We're very excited for the Scarlet Lady's Dominican Daze cruise in ONLY 12 DAYS !!! Sometimes, I see people say "We only had 700 sailors" or "The ships will be more full" later on. How does one find this good info? Just as an aside, I'm a total cruise newb but I'm the one who is the "points nerd" who booked us this free cruise. So I wound up booking all the reservations and I think I messed up because all of them are at 8pm... Thanks for any help you can give! This post was
  5. I haven't been on a cruise since my first (and last) in '99 because of this very issue (staff happiness). I much prefer to sail with staff who are adequately compensated and taken care of by their employer.
  6. Sorta-sequiteur: My guess, as a total newb, is the PJ party will always be on the first night because they want your fresh clothes, not already-slept-in clothes. It's strategery.
