When has the Symphony of the seas been to Tampa?
Yeah my mistake. Let's go for Port Everglades/ Fort Lauderdale for $100 Alex.
That bridge would be a little bit of an issue... 😲

Hello! Did anyone have any more recent experience with starlink coverage across the Atlantic Ocean during the westbound transatlantic crossings of Nov/Dec 2023?
Any reliable and up to date info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
We were on Symphony of the Seas from Barcelona to Tampa back in October/ November. The Starlink was decent with a few issues here and there but never more than a few minutes at a time.
I don't know if I'd want to depend on it for Zoom type business calls but for checking in and getting things done while on a trip it was good.
Happy New Year! Bill

My granddaughter txtd that she read it on the news. I asked an officer and he said absolutely not. We never heard an announcement.
The captain came on the PA around midnight the first night of the cruise. My first post stated what was said. Also Royal Caribbean made an official Statement on the incident.

After the Captain announced the passenger was recovered, there has been no additional (official) information from anyone on the ship.
* We are onboard the Symphony...another rumor is that the passenger who jumped, along with his family, were removed from the ship at the next port...in Valencia.
The individual may have been "removed " because they were in need of medical assistance from the fall off of the ship.
But you are correct, nothing I've seen or heard on the ship has said anything more. I just hope that the individual is doing well as far as health.

Royal Caribbean came out officially and said it was a passenger who fell overboard. I've asked around but the most I've gotten is that he was around 70 and was alive when they brought him onboard after the incident.

Curious: Did you hear the "Oscar - Oscar - Oscar" (person overboard) crew announcement?
We did. They said it a few times port side. Then the ship started slowing down.

On board the ship and the captain just notified us that we had someone go overboard about an hour ago and they have “recovered “ the individual and they’re being seen by the medical team.
I noticed that we were stopped in the water about a half hour before they made the announcement.
What a way to start the first night of the cruise. 😬 I hope the person is safe.

Got off the Explorer last Sunday (what an absolute cluster but that’s off topic)
Our cabin had a very good blow dryer. Deck 3

Chat also came back on Friday for the Jewel of the Seas.

On the Jewel right now about 1500 miles into the crossing and the Voom internet has been 80%. Most of the time it's decent but there have been times where it's not good at all.
When it's bad it could be an hour or half of the day. Also the coverage within the ship is spotty.

Chat is definitely not working (or available) on the Jewel this week.

I'm on the Jewel right now and they allowed a 12 pack of diet Coke. 🤔

So going to bump this up and see if anyone who has done a transatlantic crossing in the last month has any comments on their experiences with the onboard internet that Royal Caribbean offers ?
thanks in advance! Bill

Thanks folks for the feedback. I’d hate to purchase the full cruise and find out that once yes are out to sea it stops working or gets worst. I suspect they won’t give me credit or refund if it wasn’t working well.
I noticed that the price went up another $40 for the cruise since I waited. I better either buy it and deal with what it is or forget it.
take care!

The subject says it all. 🙂
We will be in the April 22nd sailing from Port Carnival to Amsterdam transatlantic on jewel of the seas. Was wondering if the star link (if the ship has it operational ) has coverage for the whole cruise?
Thanks in advance! Bill

On our transatlantic crossing last April on the jewel the internet did work but not too well in our cabin midship deck 3. In public areas it was much better. If we were near the door it sometimes worked.
go to a public area like the library, schooner bar and I suspect a day pass will work for you.
