  1. On our transatlantic crossing last April on the jewel the internet did work but not too well in our cabin midship deck 3. In public areas it was much better. If we were near the door it sometimes worked. go to a public area like the library, schooner bar and I suspect a day pass will work for you. bill
  2. Yeah my mistake. Let's go for Port Everglades/ Fort Lauderdale for $100 Alex. That bridge would be a little bit of an issue... 😲
  3. We were on Symphony of the Seas from Barcelona to Tampa back in October/ November. The Starlink was decent with a few issues here and there but never more than a few minutes at a time. I don't know if I'd want to depend on it for Zoom type business calls but for checking in and getting things done while on a trip it was good. Happy New Year! Bill
  4. The captain came on the PA around midnight the first night of the cruise. My first post stated what was said. Also Royal Caribbean made an official Statement on the incident.
  5. The individual may have been "removed " because they were in need of medical assistance from the fall off of the ship. But you are correct, nothing I've seen or heard on the ship has said anything more. I just hope that the individual is doing well as far as health.
  6. Royal Caribbean came out officially and said it was a passenger who fell overboard. I've asked around but the most I've gotten is that he was around 70 and was alive when they brought him onboard after the incident.
  7. We did. They said it a few times port side. Then the ship started slowing down.
  8. On board the ship and the captain just notified us that we had someone go overboard about an hour ago and they have “recovered “ the individual and they’re being seen by the medical team. I noticed that we were stopped in the water about a half hour before they made the announcement. What a way to start the first night of the cruise. 😬 I hope the person is safe. Bill
  9. Got off the Explorer last Sunday (what an absolute cluster but that’s off topic) Our cabin had a very good blow dryer. Deck 3 Bill
  10. On the Jewel right now about 1500 miles into the crossing and the Voom internet has been 80%. Most of the time it's decent but there have been times where it's not good at all. When it's bad it could be an hour or half of the day. Also the coverage within the ship is spotty. Bill
  11. Chat is definitely not working (or available) on the Jewel this week.
  12. I'm on the Jewel right now and they allowed a 12 pack of diet Coke. 🤔
  13. So going to bump this up and see if anyone who has done a transatlantic crossing in the last month has any comments on their experiences with the onboard internet that Royal Caribbean offers ? thanks in advance! Bill
