Yes, a similar setup to Sun Princess, but unlike P&O, the deck outside the cabana suites on the Sun are limited to guests who also have that class of cabin, not the entire ship. Even so, I still wouldn't want it.

My guess is that they're trying to create "mostly adult" areas with the deck layout instead of trying to police an adult-only area. For example, the Terrace pool on Emerald Princess is supposed to be 18+, but it's not enforced and therefore why have the rule at all? On the Sun Princess it appears that all of the outdoor kid-centric areas are on the lido deck and above - i.e. lido pools and dome pool. By putting the Wake View Terrace on deck 8, I would think/hope that it would deter many kids/families from making that a destination.

fyi, Adam Savage from Myth Busters has done a series of videos on the engineering of the Sun Princess. It's really interesting (if you're into that kind of thing 😉).

Based on the renderings and images that I've seen, it appears that the only place on the ship where you can see the ocean without a wall of glass in front of you is from a balcony cabin. If true, this is tragic. One of my favorite things on a cruise ship is standing next to the railing on the lido or promenade deck and looking out at the horizon. The effect is totally ruined when there's a pane of glass obstructing the view.
