  1. Email me if you want a hilarious Epic Shower story!
  2. I agree with you, when you book a cruise and a facility or feature that you are looking forward too is removed, it is work canceling.
  3. Hundred Percent agree with you, this tendency to "take away services," is awful. My son and I are fortunate to have sauna and steam in our home, once you get used to that, it is like part of your routine!
  4. maybe a transatlantic in Feb?? Trying to sort out our options, my son is super excited!
  5. Agree 100% with you. I do not know why but, the men I meet in the sauna or steam room, the conversations are just so much better, deeper than if we were just sitting in a lounge or bar. That is why I like to spend some extra time there after the first night, you can sometimes make good cruise friends and go on excursions and as a single dad it is just its nice to have some adult buddies to hang with during a cruise. I wish more cruise lines would treat these areas as a social areas that needs to be enhanced, not sometimes tucked away.
  6. Super excited about this beautiful ship! A couple of questions for any past cruisers on her. What is the gym area like? Does she have a good free weight area? Are there any separate sauna/ steam rooms for men or is the wet area all Co ED? Any additional info Much appreciated!
  7. Any renderings or construction photos of the Main Dining Room? On the deck plans it looks like it will be Massive!
  8. I agree completely! So tempted to do one this winter, my son would be estactic, but the North Atlantic in the winter? IDK Could be a cool adventure!
  9. After a workout I am a total Sauna/Steam lover! Met some amazing men, and had some amazing conversations there!
  10. I have never had an issue, I mean I have always found time on several ships to do laps.
  11. I think it depends on what you enjoy doing, I enjoy swimming, so for me not to swim that would not be a vacation that would be an annoyance, I enjoy running everyday, I would also never go on a ship without a running track, but it is a personal decision. Take Disney for example, there are people who love to gamble on vacation, but you cannot on a Disney ship, so those people can choose to go on another cruise line. The amazing thing about cruising is choice, we are free to choose our ideal vacation parameters. And some cruisers view a ship like a floating resort. We are very fortunate that we live in an era that there are so many choices of ships available to us, catering to all our needs and desires.
  12. I love the Solarium on every RCCL ship that we have been on, from the small ones to the larger ones. I am going to keep my mind open until I see good images of the finished product, renderings through out the history of naval architecture always make spaces appear larger than they are in reality. So fingers crossed this new take on the solarium will be great, maybe just in a different way.
  13. I just do not feel that a design just for something new should not take over common sense. You have X number of passengers, in a hot environment, so you should have X amount of space for swimming, and lounging. I felt the same way about the Norwegian Epic's cabin design. One of my favorite pools!
  14. The pool, and area around it was a deal breaker for me, I love doing laps, and I have been on several new ships that have amazing pools, so no future cruises for me on Virgin until this is addressed.
  15. I have to admit not a fan of the cabin layout on Epic, I do like bold designs and creative choices, in cabins, love new tech, but...this layout felt more of change for change sake! As my son said on our cruise, "Dad its kinda weird," still we had an awesome cruise, I give them points for trying something new!
  16. Agree with you 100% Been lifting for over 15 years, and men can really apply that deep pressure, almost intuitively where you need it! Personally I hate it when a female masseuse will open the door and then make comments about the size of my body, not in a flattering way! As if I just doubled their workload! But i just make a few jokes, but honestly I have had great relaxing massages from women staff, just not the same deep tissue relief that i get from male masseuses.
  17. My bad! I still have not figured out how to edit my posts!
  18. Thank you! It sounds like a great way to turn the world off for a bit!
  19. Avid spa goer here! Thank you for the great detailed post!
