I just got off Crown Princess couple days ago. Here is a short video tour of men's changing room and sauna. When I use the sauna, usually 3 or 4 people were there. Most of the guests use sauna with a towel or completely naked. This was my 4th time on Crown Princess. I had to say I was a little bit disappointed. Most of the lockers couldn't be locked. In the video you could also see the towels wasn't refilled. On the third day, the dry sauna was out of order. @CruisinwithMark also post a video tour of men's sauna for Caribbean Princess.

In north Asia, visiting onsen is a popular leisure activity. Onsen usually is in single sex setting. Everybody is naked and equal. We can spend entire afternoon in there, benefit from the hydrotherapy and feel refreshed afterward. It is part of our culture. I guess in north America, sauna is just an add-on amenity to the gym and gym is a very body conscious place.

Well; health-wise, certain part of male body is supposed to regulate heat and has it wrapped up and steamed alive does not make a lot of sense.

I was on Koningsdam in May 2022 to Alaska. The men's sauna was working fine. It was rather a unique experience, enjoying the hot sauna naked, having interesting conversation with other guys, looking out to the beautiful snowy mountain view, all at the same time. Quite relaxing. Since this sauna wasn't connected to the changing room. it wasn't too busy. Only few of us regulars kept meeting there. However, this men's sauna only had a very narrow changing / shower area. We could only put our stuff on the wall hooks. If there was a third person coming in, he had to find a dry spot on the floor to put his stuff. That was the downside of it.

Interestingly cruise lines are happy to run gay cruises (which are actually sex cruises) but not for straight swingers. You would think there is a bigger market for that. Some ships have adult only area. Majestic princess has a 18+ Hollywood club on the top deck. I really like it. Crown princess has 18+ "Sanctuary" but you have to pay extra. But generally I prefer to cruise with Holland America because they cater to a mature crowd.
