  1. Thanks for the feedback Thanks for the feedback. I did realize credit cards aren't for medical, I was asking if between GeoBlue and Sapphire combined it would cover the range of most travel incidents to medical. On GeoBlue Trekker, I"m seeing many sources and their site showing pre-existing is covered. Did I misunderstand your comment or are there many restrictions?
  2. Thanks, found this with the details... https://thriftytraveler.com/news/credit-card/u-s-bank-altitude-connect-card-adds-mobile-data-abroad/
  3. Do you know which card? I'm using Chase Sapphire preferred for the travel insurance but no cruise WiFi benefits.
  4. Yeah I looked at Airalo and looks like they don't support C@S yet. Hopefully more eSIM players will over time and compete on rates.
  5. Thanks, I did a search and didn't find anything similar. And I should've posted this in that category. Moderator can move it over there.
  6. Thanks for the feedback. I plan to give it a shot on next cruise. If you turn off images in your web browser and just use for browsing and texting it should be doable to keep under 100MB/day, well under the Gig per week. And then send pics/videos on land. Looking forward to trying it. But wanted to check if any other eSIM services work on cruise ships. GigSky is only one I can find so far.
  7. Has anyone used GigSky or other eSIM services on cruise ships? They claim this works out at sea using the cruise ship cell service but at a better rate. https://www.gigsky.com/data-cruises It's not cheap at $39US for 1Gig for 7 days but it's still cheaper than Wifi for pretty much all cruise lines. Any other alternatives that work on cruise ships? I just plan to use for web browsing and texting at sea (light data usage) and then do large photo/video transfers on WiFi while at ports.
  8. Thanks for the info (last two posts). Will consider those depending on length of leg of trips and situation. It seems between GeoBlue and Sapphire card I'll be reasonably covered for most situations and then will consider specialty coverage depending on any higher chances of near future unique situations.
  9. I'm planning near full time global travels starting this summer for potentially a couple years. Much cruising involved and staying in port towns for potentially a few weeks in between cruises around world then back in US every couple months or so for 2-3 weeks at a time, rinse repeat. Will be maintaining primary medical insurance (early retired) in US. Will adding annual multitrip GeoBlue and using Chase Sapphire Preferred cover all travel/med insurance needs? Anything else to consider? Any additional travel insurance recommended?
  10. Have noticed supplements are increasing and some lines like MSC are not allowing solo to be booked at times or allowing fewer solo. Are there agencies that can get around this? Any suggestions getting best deals for solo cruisers? Was hoping to cruise near full time across many lines next year but might be cutting that to less than half what I was hoping for, maybe a quarter.
  11. Thanks for posting your experience with GeoBlue. It's an option I'm considering as I do plan to be back in FL once in a while but ideally don't want to commit to 70 day returns. Also considering Cigna Global coverage.
  12. I take a wide variety of hot sauce packets with me for boring eats, cruise ships allow them... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09H68BGCH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. I've never been on MSC (wary of the poor reviews) but will be trying it for the first time late Jan as a test for later solo travel around world. I at times will just need a transport ship with bed and doable healthy leaning food options, not really high expectations for a 'vacation' experience. Expect MSC to be fine for that.
