Our airfare research determined we could save almost $400 per person booking our flights to and from Vancouver as one way bookings instead of round trip. YMMV

We are also 1st time Alaska cruisers. We had narrowed down our search to HAL and Princess. In the end we chose princess RT from Vancouver for 11 nights. This was based on Glacier Bay, the other Alaskan ports and not having to hit Victoria at 2200 at night for a 4 or 5 hour stop to satisfy a government regulation. The HAL trip we were looking at was RT from Seattle. Heading into Vancouver a few days before the cruise and staying a few days after. ^^ This worked for us but may not be what others choose.

Have only booked one (upcoming) cruise to AK out of Vancouver. We booked our flights independently after checking EZ air. Flight times, routing, aircraft type and price are all considered when we select a flight.

Hello All, My wife and I are currently looking at Alaska cruises R/T out of Vancouver OR Southbound out of Seward to Vancouver. We see where MCL is running a special of 2nd person flies free if you book their air. In speaking with the NCL rep, it is my understanding the you have no input on the flight selection (time/route) and can only do a 2 day pre or post arrival. I am looking for any feedback (positive or negative) from those who have used NCL to book their flights. Thank you

Go to the HAL website and register BEFORE you book.. After you have registered on the HAL site and have a Mariner number, go to the military appreciation link. Enter the information and after verification, the valid military discount will permanently attach to your profile.
