  1. I've had a Boardwalk and a Central Park view balcony on Allure.  I loved them both.  I think we were the 5th or 6th cabin from the back on the Boardwalk.  It had a great view.  The only thing that might be annoying in the bell that rings every time the carousel starts.  The Central Park balcony was especially nice in the evenings.  There was usually some kind of live music in the park.

  2. I did a dolphin swim from St. Maarten to Anguilla.  It's been a few years ago so I don't remember the price.  The dolphin swim was a RCCL excursion that also included beach time & lunch in Anguilla.  I just remember that the beach there was beautiful--very clear & beautiful sand for kids & adults alike.  No weeds, shells or rocks.  My granddaughter found some piece of coral that she collected, but it was confiscated when we went through security.

  3. I asked the Windjammer manager what happened to it a couple of years ago.  He said that they change the food every so often & that had been around for quite a while so they discontinued it.  I think they would make it for you if you ask the headwaiter in the main dining room.  My brother asked our headwaiter for something he liked once (don't remember the name) & they made him a huge order of it the next evening for dinner.

  4. I've been on both. I'm going on Freedom on March 25th & Oasis in July. I like Oasis & Allure more because of the size & more entertainment options, etc. My son chose Freedom for the next cruise. He likes it more because it still has the promenade deck that you can walk around & see the ocean. On Oasis & Allure it's more about the park & boardwalk area so the ocean views are more limited.

  5. I'll be on Oasis with my 6-year-old granddaughter in March. She sailed on Allure with me last March. The very first thing on her agenda was to ride the carousel. We were some of the first people on the ship & headed there first. She probably rode that thing 100 times throughout the cruise! She also had to check out the fun house mirrors that you pass on the way there every time, too. There are 2 ice shows that your granddaughter will love, the regular one and then another one later in the cruise. On Allure, it was called "How to Train Your Dragon." There are also 2 Aqua Theater shows, the regular one and another one on the last sea day which is geared towards kids. It's got all the characters that they see on board.

  6. I went there with my granddaughter when she was 4 years old, I think. The parking lot is at the top of the falls. We walked down the steps along the side of the falls & she played at the beach which she enjoyed. Then she was too tired to walk back up, so I had to carry her up the stairs again. The worst part was having to go through the maze of vendors at the top on the way to the bus. I didn't buy anything, just kept looking ahead and walking. Some of them yelled insults at my for not buying anything. One woman put a wooden turtle into my granddaughter's swim cover-up pocket & said, "This is a gift for her. Just give me a donation." I gave it back to her. I can say I've been there now, but I have no plans on going back.

  7. RCI is a member of the Apostleship of the Sea, so they will normally have a priest on board for the holy days.

That's true. We were on an Easter cruise a few years back (don't remember which ship). We happened to meet a monsignor and the cruise director at one of the shows & asked about an Easter mass. We told the cruise director that our mother was very elderly & couldn't attend the mass at an early hour, but asked if they could broadcast it on their TV network so she could participate from our cabin. He said he'd see what he could do. Sure enough, we got a call from him & they actually did that!

  8. We always stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach. It is a very beautiful property. Right on the beach, has a beautiful pool and the food is great. You can easily walk to a water taxi stop from there as well. Can’t wait to stay there for two night before and two nights after our cruise in February!!

I've stayed there as well. It is beautiful & right on the beach--no walking across the street. I've also stayed at the Marriott on Las Olas in April. It's across the street from the beach but walking distance to restaurants, shops & bars. We had a room facing the back with a view of the intracoastal & the cruise ships in the distance.
