  1. We always take our Windstar emails indicating how much onboard credit we have, etc. Then if there is any question about this (which only happened once with a brand new employee), we have confirmation. Otherwise we have never needed to show any cruise documents.
  2. The Wind Star and Spirit have a camper-style table and seating and the Wind Surf instead has a roomy desk and chair. A folding table would not fit in either cabin configuration, but interesting that you bring yours.
  3. Hi. No, the Wind Spirit/Star and Wind Surf have differences. The best way to compare would be to go to the Windstar site, select the ships, and scroll down to the virtual deck plans. There you can view the cabin photos to make comparisons. Hope this helps.
  4. There may be a doctor and 2 nurses on board but there are no advanced medical facilities such as MRIs or CTs. Windstar and their doctor might insist she leave the ship to have these if she had another episode. Best idea would be to ask her regular doctor for advice.
  5. Windstar is awesome on this issue! Just cruised for 14 days and we are gluten intolerant. You tell them when you book and reference that on the special needs form they send you and, when you are onboard, they do the rest beautifully. The first meal you may need to remind them, but they say they can do anything GF. We were given the next evening's menu to select from and leave with the chef and then our choices were confirmed briefly when we arrived for that dinner. It was great to have delicious sauces and gravies again with no worry! Also, the staff is there to question about what you can have other times of the day, although the buffet lunch items should be carefully perused as we found an occasional confusing label, quickly corrected. Their GF bread is okay, but nothing special, but they have it easily available - just ask. The "plant-based" offerings which have no gluten, salt, sugar, or oil are a choice at every meal. You may cruise GF with Windstar with no hassles!
  6. We just stayed in 236 and it was fine. Much further aft of there is where the tenders leave/arrive. Cabins on either side of us (234 and 238) had refreshening treatments while we crossed the Atlantic, but only during the day so it never bothered us. Yes, if the water tight doors are closed you must ascend via stairs, but only one flight - on deck 3 you can access the elevators. We like deck 2 as it is above the "splash line" and midship is more stable during any rolling.
