WOW ,  So many differences, not just among the lines and ships but also between the cabin categories.  And much would depend on your own likes/dislikes.   For example, on those Celebrity ships you have the so-called "Retreat suites" which come with an array of ship within a ship benefits.  Personally, we have zero interest in the Celebrity "infinity balcony cabins" which I like to call French Balconies or faux balconies.  As to NCL, we consider this a budget line unless you are willing to book one of the Haven Suites, in which case it becomes a completely different kind of higher end product.

As to the Blight of the Seas...oops meant Icon of the Seas, if you think big is better than that might be for you.  I like to point out to folks that none of the true luxury lines have huge ships.  There is a reason that the best luxury ships tend to carry fewer than 1000 passengers.

Thanks, We are not too focused on cabin, we are even fine with an inside, we prefer a nicer ship vs a nicer cabin. But we did just do Yacht Club on MSC and loved it. Something similar on other lines I know would not be in our budget.

  2. We are a mid 40's couple, love good food, dining variety, pool people, like listening to music on vacation.
These ships are doing itineraries we like so which ship would you pick and why?

    Celebrity Apex

When you say you are big into dining options - I will say they are a bit limited on the ship unless you go for specialty dining.  There are 4 main dining rooms, but the menus are mostly the same.  The venues are decorated differently.  Be sure to make reservations as early as possible to secure a table/time.

    Have a great honeymoon!

    Specialty dining...

Le Voyage (Beyond and Ascent only)

    Fine Cut Steakhouse

    Le Grand Bistro

    Eden

    Raw on 5

Dinner on Edge (which is on the Magic Carpet) - this only operates when conditions are favorable.

    Rooftop Grill

Thank you, this is good to know. We like good food but also variety, so having the same/similar food the whole cruise in a main dining room would not be great for us.

Are you going to book a suite or a non-suite? You can't make a bad choice, Apex is the older, a tiny bit smaller, and is missing the specialty restaurant Le Voyage; the other two are basically the same.  I would look into pricing and itineraries

Was not planning to book a suite. Thanks for the info !

We need a lot more info here. Where do you want to cruise to? Is budget a serious restriction?

There are many cruise lines that are adult only in fact, or essentially adult only. There are cruise lines, like Disney, that cater totally to kids.

When you can cruise matters a lot. During school times, the number of kids drops a lot. Longer cruises (greater than 10 days) have a lot less kids, typically.

We do not need an adults only cruise but a cruise line/ship that has some adult only areas ideally. We are looking at the Caribbean
