  1. Isn't the $50 credit only given after shorex confirms you went on the excursion? Hence you'd be out $50 if you don't go. I saw this comment from 2019:
  2. @dbrown84@bones774 I wonder if it would work to book an $50 excursion onboard (deducted from non-refundable OBC) and then cancel it prior to the excursion (credited as refundable OBC?).
  3. Where exactly do you do this ticket handover? Is it at the meeting point on the ship? Is it off the ship when getting on the bus? Some of the excursions on my upcoming cruise are at times where I might already be off the ship doing something else if I want to take advantage of this trick. 😅
  4. If I don't end up using all the onboard credit from the gift cards, is the remaining amount refunded to the gift card or to my credit card on file?
  5. I also found a helpful post from 2020 confirming that e-visa is acceptable to use at Phu My Port:
  6. Update for anyone who was hopeful: turns out this article is old news from 2015. Discovered by someone in a TripAdvisor thread: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293921-i8432-k14292439-Cruise_ship_visa_fee_back_to_5_per_day-Vietnam.html.
  7. Hmm I may have read the itinerary wrong. It is leaving on Thurs Dec 14 at 1 AM, so not really a true overnight.
  8. I'm going on the December 11 - 22 Norwegian Jewel cruise which has an overnight stop in Phuket. Specifically, the ship will arrive in Phuket on Wed Dec 13 at 7 AM and leave on Fri Dec 15 at 1 AM. I'm trying to plan out what to do these two days, and one thing that I'm not sure about is how easy it will be to come and go from the ship in the later hours. Based on the NCL website, we should be docked and not tendered, so at least they won't have to operate tenders all through the night. Should I expect to be able to board/debark at all hours in the night? Anyone have experience with this port recently or during the same general time period (winter)?
