  1. I hope VV keeps everything the same. Please stay on X going forward
  2. VV giving $600 in free drinks. The idea is to break away from packages.
  3. No, that's what X is offering in lieu of pillow chocolates
  4. Well, they won't miss you running at near capacity. These posts are so redundant. Nobody cares. If I based my booking decisions on CC forums, I wouldn't be crushing.
  5. Booking a flight for the same day as a cruise departure, is a recipe for disaster. Airlines have become increasingly worse for cancellations, and delays.
  6. Every line has to start somewhere. And typically cruise lines build ships over time in distinct class/size. I would imagine Virgin will eventually migrate to a 2nd class of new ships that vary from what they offer currently, just as all the others have decade to decade over time.
  7. I've heard nothing but good things about Virgin. Glad you felt welcomed and comfortable also! People will always find something to nitpick about. Shorter cruises, yet I see 7 and 8 day itineraries Q1 2024. Virgin will only get stronger, as they prove out their fee model, which doesn't nickle and dime you for food/drink/wifi.
  8. We've never been married to X. My wife unfortunately likes the NCL mega ships, only the Prima class, and they have to be new. That's why we have an Ascent X cruise booked in Dec. I am more about ship vibe and amenities. But, we know who the boss is.
  9. Someone that recently cruised virgin, thought the same thing going in, but mentioned although the show selection was more upbeat, the cruise vibe itself was very laid back, and the "Included" restaurants had great quality. Everything subjective of course, but for those evaluating options for Caribbean/Med itineraries, worth looking at. We're going to try one Dec '24
  10. Of course you had options other than mashed. 🙂
  11. The OP wasn't inquiring about a suite at $1k PP. So the AI wifi would be standard
  12. Wifi in AI is worthless. Barely can check email, nothing past that.
  13. Got the same email. And Virgin is on our bucket list also if we didn't have an X Ascent booked in December we would be on Virgin
  14. There is no right or wrong, yes or no, experienced vs newbies/cheerleaders. If you don't feel the reward is worth the invest go somewhere else where it is. But, for gosh sakes, stop whining because others don't see it your way, or agree.
  15. Probably has to do with supply chain issues at specific ports, where the ship stocks for the next sailing.
  16. Nah, AQ/Concierge same rif-raf cabins with just a couple of eating/spa perks. Lotta rif-raf over in those 2 classes also. 🙂
  17. I digress, you made me do the actual math. 🙂 On Celebrity Ascent: 1550 cabins total, of which 215 are suites. So the Rif-Raf is only 86.12903%
  18. Mashed on only 2 of 8 entree options 🙂 Amazing how some turn 25% into 100% when they whine. 🙂 Looks like a nice MDR menu for the evening.
  19. What they don't realize is that the Riff-Raff class represents 95% of the guests on the boat. But the elitist attitude is always entertainment at best. I make more money than 95% of them, but have never seen the value in over priced suites/AQ on a boat that I'm going to only spend 7 days of my life. Especially considering we spend most of our time outside of sleeping, not in the cabin. If I want nice digs, it's going to be at an air bnb in the mountains, where we'll spend more time in than out. BUT, the entertainment value is real!
  20. I get why people are up in air. I feel I need to make my own decisions on my upcoming cruises. I'm not married to any one cruise line.. My wife likes the newer NCL ships, even tho I dislike the mega ship Prima class, and tons of kids, we have done quite a few cruises on NCL also over the years. And we're 15 mins from Port Canaveral, so with Princess sailing from there starting next Winter, may give them a go also.
