I'm on Android and just got off Valiant Lady today. When entering your date of birth you scroll to choose your birth month and day. Then you tap on the year. When you tap it a field opens where you can simply type in the year. I didn't realize the at first myself, but my husband did it and told me that's what to do.
I'm sorry you weren't very happy with your cruise. I do agree that VV is extremely different from the other cruise lines we've sailed on. I found that once I got the hang of things I enjoyed myself more and more.
