I sailed Alaska on the Koningsdam in 2022 and 2023. Fairly certain the answer is no. The Explorations Cafe has lots of iced options, but as you say, that isn't cold brew.

Another advantage to sailing out of Vancouver that hasn't been discussed yet is the Freedom Discount. 1.36 to be exact.

In other words, plenty of snooty and/or introverted and/or quiet and reserved youth to follow in their parents' footsteps (my children included).

I'm patiently waiting for a Boston to Montreal or Quebec City cruise for Fall 2026 (when do they typically get released?). Anyway, I notice that for 2025 the last cruise leaves Boston on October 4, which means that it's barely fall. And this year, the last cruise is October 12. In a normal year, that's on the early side for prime leaf-peeping. Is that typical for HAL to stop sailing so early? Any particular reason they don't sail the whole month of October?

I assume these teens are getting a free cruise? If so, who gives a hoot if they're bored or not...

Just curious, these priests were getting free room and board? If so, seems like an easy cut if you're trying to manage a budget. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe there's a silver lining...HAL will actually ensure the entertainment is good and plenty to put on a good face for the mega church.

Not to sidetrack this thread, but as a new cruiser (2 years, three 7-day cruises), I can't wrap my head around why a cruise line would allow people to refare. I mean, what benefit does the cruise line get from this? It seems counterintuitive to making the business money (especially since they have to increase administrative staff to handle all these changes), and the airline faring system seems to work just fine for airlines.

But HAL and its pax aren't part of the problem...🤷‍♂️

Just to play devil's advocate, and no, I'm not going to do a dummy booking. Since I'm one of those that have stayed in one cabin with 4 (gasp!) people, if I do a search for 4 on a cruise, will it show me quads are available if only a party of two booked it? My guess it would say no availability...and if that's the case, how would one even go about getting a cabin (and therefore getting somebody moved)? Are we saying only 4 and 5 star mariners have that kind of pull? If this policy is geared for newbies, how does a newbie receive that kind of clout with HAL?
