Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We met someone in board who was doing the exact same thing!! She said her secret weapon was to never use an elevator to get anywhere. For a more specific walk - Deck 7 has a promenade deck which isn’t too busy, and Decks 12/13 have open spaces to walk around. There’s also treadmills in the gym if you wanted to walk facing the sea. I wasn’t particularly trying to hit 10k steps while I was there, but my watch shows that I was getting an average of 9k on sea days. If you’re focussing on it, you should be able to hit 10k pretty easily. 😊
  2. Hey Hattie- yeah, we’re sailing on Sunday… Is the hole in the wall the reason I’m currently printing off a load of baggage tags! 😂
  3. Thanks for this, @BklynBoy8 - hadn't thought about people away from the cruise itself such as the tour guides. Excellent tip. 😊 Plus... I'm currently at 2 suitcases and 2 suit carriers... and that's before my other half has added his luggage to mix. I think we might have give the longshoreman quite the tip!!
  4. Thanks @neeuqdrazil - that's super specific and sooooo helpful! I've noted this down - and yeah, the romance of being out on deck in our finery sounds pretty special...
  5. <puts the Hungarian pengō back in the drawer> 😆
  6. Thank you - we’re both super excited. A wedding one weekend and now this… We’re having quite the April/May! 😉 There was a minor problem when we booked, and I mentioned then that this would be our honeymoon, which the advisor on the phone said he’d note. We’re not expecting anything, but it’s nice he said he’d make sure the team were aware. Do you tend to tip the suite attendant as you go, or in a lump sum at the end of the cruise?
  7. Ah, OK - so it’s not like a hotel where I *need* to tip every time they bring the items…? All of that is covered either by the auto-tip or a tip that I’d leave in my room as we leave to say thank you for looking after us so well, if I so desire? I won’t annoy the staff or appear unappreciative if I don’t tip them as I go? (Yes, I’m aware as I type this that I’m overthinking this. 😂😂😂)
  8. I’ll keep an eye out while I’m there and I’ll post anything I find out for you! 😊
  9. Really looking forward to the Gala Nights. We have 2 standard ones, a Roaring Twenties-themed one and one a Black and White Gala night. Means we’re both taking so much luggage with us, but it’ll be worth it!! 😊 We’re in Britannia Club, so I think we’ve chosen a set time for our meal, and chosen a table for 2. Good call about the wait staff - I’d not clicked that it’ll be the same person looking after us through our cruise.
  10. Ah, that’s super useful, thank you! Means I don’t have to take currency I’ll never use, I’ll just make sure I some GBP in cash on me. Thanks for the clarification. 😊😊
  11. My new husband and I are heading to Norway from Southampton on the QM2 for our honeymoon, and we’d love any tips you have for first timers who’ve never done this before! My immediate question is about cash - do I need to take some USD with us for tips for things like room service, or is this included in the auto-tipping system I’ve read about…? Aside from that, though, I really don’t know what I don’t know, so anything you think would be useful for newbies to Cunard to know, or specific recommendations for the QM2 would be super welcome! 😊
