Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It’s more neutral than anything. If the rest of the bids expire and one is pending and locked (as in you can’t change or cancel it) typically that bid is going to be successful. Tyler
  2. Oh sorry, I meant the “few days out but still all in pending” aspect. They’re probably holding out for an outright booking in both our cases, although I’m not sure why the bid for CS is more than for RS… (or why they’re still selling GTY rooms on my sold out cruise but also still accepting bids in all categories?). Keep us posted on your outcome!
  3. I’m in the same boat (pardon the pun), except we leave June 4th. Sometimes when I check it’s sold out entirely, other times they have 1-3 of some cabin types, but then nothing hours later. All bids still pending.
  4. Nice one! Those concierge class rooms up on 12 right behind the pool / below the ocean view are my fav. Have a great cruise!
  5. In my experience if all other bids are expired and one is pending and locked, you got it (the locked one). Have fun!! I’m in the same situation (full cruise but haven’t noticed an affirmatively locked bid yet)
  6. A bit of an update for everyone, maybe it applies to you, maybe not. Historically you were able to upgrade individual guests from classic beverage package to premium (for about $200 CAD). They recently updated their policies so now you need to upgrade the entire cabin, regardless of whether it’ll be used, which is annoying if only 1 person will use it (but I get it, they’re a business and want to make sure you don’t share packages). Today, 5 May 2023 I was able to have the classic to premium upgrade refunded for 1 guest (who is medically unable to drink due to medications), by stating their “FAQs show that an exemption will be made for recovering alcoholics and those who are medically unable to drink alcohol.” I had to call in, and only was offered the option once I quoted their FAQs. The situation might not apply to everyone, but there is hope if you fit in to these parameters. I don’t know if I’ll be able to manage getting them to refund the difference for 1 guest between classic and zero proof, but I was instructed to speak to guest relations once onboard (June 4 to Alaska from Vancouver!) as there are notes on my file. I’ll update this post for everyone if I manage to get the classic to zero proof difference refunded for one guest once onboard!
