I'm not sure what the problem about riding in a bus with 'a bunch of other people' is? After all, they would be fellow Regent passengers, there would have been a much bigger 'bunch of people' on the ship, and you would possibly have been on excursions with a similar bunch of people.

Yes, but they could be Veranda Room people.  😜

  2. There’s a relatively new rideshare service in NYC called REVEL. They’re all electric cars, mostly Teslas, owned by the company. We found them to be efficient, spotlessly clean, and their price beat Uber’s and Lyft’s every time we tried. They’re very customer service-oriented. We were really impressed. Their app is easy to use, and all the cars are painted a distinctive blue, so they’re easy to spot. Give them a try!

Be careful how you judge,20 years ago I would have worn a pretty dress and heels but now due to my disability and braces I might be viewed as being casual with handicapped .shoes.Just enjoy what you are wearing and stop complaining about what people are wearing  until you you know there story

Your 6am arrival does not mean that you can debark at 6 am. There are many immigration formalities plus all luggage must be unloaded before anyone can leave the ship. Often debarking does not begin until after 8am..then luggage must be collected and the taxi line mastered.

And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its ass a-hoppin'.  :classic_laugh:

Have been watching this thread and was a bit surprised that some have "problems" with handling excursion changes by phone.  I have never had an issue.  I was prompted to respond because yesterday and again this morning, I had occasion to call Regent to make some excursion modifications - to include being put onto a waitlist for one of the excursions.  In both cases I was on the phone - without being put on hold - for less than a minute.  My experience has been that Regent makes this process extremely easy.

I've never had a problem with excursion booking/changing/cancelling on the phone. My issue is with having to call them in the first place for something that any number of other companies can let me do online. Regent's website is antiquated and, dare I say, targeted at their largest market demographic.

Perfect example of what happens when things go well. Does not always happen, so your decision relates to level of risk of missing your flight you are willing to accept. I would guess your chances of things going fine are about 85 percent. About 10 percent chance of things going okay but with stress involved due to frustrating delays and just barely making it. About 5 percent chance you miss your flight. Some may quibble that my last scenario is rated too high.

I don't fret about a domestic return MIA-ORD flight. I might build in more time internationally, but generally I don't agonize about what *might* happen, and I rarely have a delay; the stats you quoted above, if correct, have borne that out.

  7. We got a Lyft at Miami for an 11AM flight. We were at the airport 1/2 hour after we got off the ship. The ride share pick-up area is right across the street from the terminal exit door. We left the ship around 8:30, and had two hours to kill at the airport. You'll be more than fine with an 11:15 flight.

We just booked Hong Kong to Tokyo for February. When booking excursions, there were a number that were sold out, with no option to waitlist. Is there any way to waitlist other than hoping for a cancellation once we are on board?

If there's no waitlist option, the only way is to check when you board. No guarantees, but they often clear.

I’ll be onboard on my wedding anniversary and Grandeur departs at 8pm in a beautiful location so I’d prefer a lovely table for 2 outside Sette Mari for the sail out..Weather is forecast to be lovely hopefully.

    That sounds really nice.

Here’s a tip: Try to get seated just before sunset, or whatever your preferred time is. What we do at Sette Mari (no reservations) is to check in about an hour before that time and request a table then. We then tell the maitre d’ that we’re going to one of the lounges for a cocktail (or two), and they’ll call that lounge with the table is ready.

Agree it is a pretty minimal problem. However when I am told something cannot be done by someone in the service business and then the company surprises me by doing it, I am happy my request was honored, but less respectful of the company for its incompetent inaccurate messaging.

How would you propose they answer the request, when there aren't enough to guarantee your access to one? Should they say "based on supplies," and then disappoint you when there isn't one available for you?

  11. I'll have a birthday on our November Grandeur cruise. We've sailed Grandeur twice already, and I'd be happy at any of the venues, though Sette Mari is certainly the most "casual." Prime 7 is the most bougie, and Chartreuse the most "fancy." Then again, Compass Rose has the wow factor of that gorgeous room, especially if you can snag a table in the center section right at the entrance; there's great people watching from there, and I feel like a VIP when sitting there.

If the OBC is from Celebrity it should show up in tge cruise lander and you can use it to pay for purchase in the Cruise Planner.
If the OBC is coming from your travel agent that money is not available until you are onboard.

If it's the latter, can I reserve dining with a credit card and then have OB services apply the charge to my OB credit? I suspect I can.
