  1. You will be given options when you deviate, complete with uncharges, if any. Have a list of preferred times/routes before you call.
  2. Ours were definitely brought in at night. Yes, the weather was lousy, but we loved the ship so much we hardly cared.
  3. Which Tokyo? We’re on the 19 March. We just finished the transatlantic on Grandeur (plus a week in Barcelona and Madrid) and loved every minute of it.
  4. American, or any other airline, is perfect if nothing's ever happened to me while flying them.
  5. Never mind - I got the 2025 list from the RSSC website. Wow, that 2025 cruise completely skips Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Is that still considered a "World Cruise?"
  6. Is there a way to post the PDF of the excursions for this cruise? We're booked on the '27 World Cruise, and it's too early to finalize the excursions, of course, But I'm most interested in the overnight land trips, and how they operate, in certain particular ports that offer them.
  7. They were asking about the cabins that have boxes for the cushions out on the balcony. I imagine those boxes are weighted at the bottom (or otherwise anchored to the deck and/or the wall), so they'd store the cushions out there.
  8. Once I split a can on Hi-C Fruit Punch so evenly my brother didn't know which one to choose. Every time he'd go for one, I'd say, "OK," and then he'd re-think his choice. We still laugh about that one! We've amended the "you cut I choose" rule to add, "and you get the plate," since there's usually some gooey goodness left on the dessert plate after splitting the main event.
  9. When we split a dessert, we have a “you cut, I choose” rule. I’d use it then.
  10. The crossed fingers worked, as I got 4,419 award miles and 4,419 loyalty points from AA for my Regent-booked return to Chicago from Barcelona yesterday. We paid the deviation to fly back on 5/1 instead of when we disembarked on 4/24.
  11. I’d rather see a nice stylish denim skirt than the scores of women who adhere to the dress code dressed like Dame Edna.
  12. Unbelievable. I just shared this with my trivia team friends, and we’re bringing an iPad and ear buds next time! 🫢
  13. These days, what qualifies as eligible changes so often. Something such as the booking category matters. Just make sure your frequent customer number is on each booking. And then cross your fingers. If it’s eligible, you’ll get the credit.
  14. Sound carryover is (almost?) always an issue of neighbors, and there’s no control over that.
  15. Oh yes. This is correct. Using the VPN does override the ship’s blocks with the sites/apps I’ve tried (YouTube, Kindle, Apple Music) on both my iPhone and iPad.
  16. It’s definitely a region issue, not a bandwidth issue. If you use a VPN, you’ll bypass that issue.
  17. Been too busy to post! It’s been a wonderful trip, so much to do on the ship and see in the ports. I and my team did raise the ire of some other fellow passengers, however, by placing first in all three Guess That Tune contests, the passengers having accused us afterwards of cheating, or being “producers,” whatever that means. What they don’t know is that pop songs and movies run through my veins, and I found 88 of the 90 songs/artists over three quizzes a cinch. Luckily, we have a nice British couple on our team who immediately knew “She,” from Notting Hill, as it was their wedding song! I would not have known that one.
  18. Someone came into the Constellation Theatre last night in shorts and a t-shirt and we just sat back and just waited for the clucking. 🤗
  19. Try closing the app and re-opening. It gets glitchy at times and doesn’t want to behave. It doesn’t work when I’m on my VPN.
  20. We’re really excited because our waitlist for our preferred cabin just came through for the 2027 World Cruise! Now to just wrap our heads around being on a five month around the world cruise, and all the logistics that come with planning such a trip.
  21. At this time, App functionality isn’t very robust. You cannot access the App unless connected to the ship’s WiFi. You can, however, download Passages and save it to your device for viewing at any time.
  22. This is just our second Regent cruise. We were invited to a special event this morning wherein we were tasked with removing lounge hogs’ belongings.
  23. We put our name in at the host stand and tell them we’re going for a drink and to call down to whichever lounge in 45 minutes or so. Works every time.
  24. Sharing tables is a gamble I don’t like taking. Most fellow passengers are lovely, of course, but we could end up with a sourpuss like the woman at the table next to ours at Pacific Rim the other night who didn’t like where they were seated and pouted about it The. Entire. Time.
  25. “Tier level” programs, from anyone, always strike me as elitist.
